Spelling lessons in this country are ridiculous.

How on earth is this Dooley 2.0?

Butch Jones's winning percentage 65%
Derek Dooley's winning percentage 43%

Are you people insane? Did the Gruden garbage really turn your brains into mush?

What a tool...still waiting for those coaches that failed at top level after being highly successful at two lower levels...you said 95% and since I named kelly and meyer you have about 38 failures to go...let's hear em...othetwise please shut up..you embarrass yourself w such uninformed and ignorant posts

It was a GENERALIZATION....not a literal reference....i'm sorry bro, is that word too big for you to understand?? I will wait while you use your english to dumbass translation guide...get over yourself.

Saban Pre-SEC- 34-24-1, 3 Bowl Losses
Miles Pre-SEC- 28-21, 1-2 in Bowls

Good coaches are good coaches. "He only recruited 3 star players to Cincy". Yeah, well recruiting ability is correlated to the school's prominence- what do you expect? A 5 star player would be a fool to play at a MAC or Big East School. The thing about him is it seems like he gets the most out of what he has had to work with and that players improve under his guidance as well as the fact that Butch has sent quite a few players to the NFL from a school like Cincinatti is certainly reassuring.

Miles' and Saban's exposure to the SEC before those jobs was minimal. I'll reserve judgment on Butch until we have a product to evaluate.

But then again, this could just be a smokescreen for Gruden to take over in 2014.

Use my brain??? I seem to be one of the few who IS using their brain....Butch Jones is not the man for the job...regardless of his win/loss record, they ALL came in inferior conferences....

Please tell us who is the right guy

Let's just give Buck Jones a chance. He might be a good coach. If nothing else he at least said he would take the job. Nobody else wanted it.

You lost this debate when you misspelled ridiculous in the title, educate yourself both in English and about Butch Jones winning record from an AQ conference > Dooley's losing record from a mid-major conference. If you really wanted Gruden bless your heart! He may have won a SB in Tampa but with Dungy's men and then went 7-9, then 5-11 so he has proven he can run a quality team into the ground. We have already been ran into the ground let's rebuild this is our man!

We tried to hire bigger names and they turned us down. We got the best we could get. This is a wake-up call for the fanbase on the perception of our program. No matter what we think, people don't see the Tennessee job as a destination place like they used to.

I agree, we are the joke of the SEC now....all you can do is laugh along with them....can't beat em join em

I was kind of "meh" When I first heard it was Jones. But the More I see & hear of him the more I'm impressed! I think he has great potential. With The right staff & Some key recruits I think we'll be on our way back!

bUTch!

With the Best recruits we'll be ok....recruits are linning up....woopee.....in 20 years this dark day will be a distant memory.....think on the bright side

So what conference should he be from? The SEC is the best. Do you want Miles, Saban, Spurrier, or even Richt? None of them are leaving, and Urban isn't leaving OSU either.

He won against the competition at schools similar to the competition. Cincy's stadium only seats 35,000 and they didn't even fill it up while winning back to back conference titles under Jones. But he recruited well by Big East standards and won anyway.

So long as he adjusts to the level of competition, we will be fine.

They are in fact insane, but I am pretty sure their brains were much long before the Gruden ridiculousness. Why else would they fall for all that BS? :p

Facts are facts.....not to bash anyone prematurely but....Dooleys team beat this guy pretty handily....so you think that hiring one of the FEW guys that Dooley won against is a way to motivate fan base? I love tennessee...but it is a fast sinking ship....

If you feel that way wyou better hurry and get off the ship... save yourself.

First off he recruited an elite talent to Cincy, remember Kenbrell Thompkins? Also the man has won 4 conference championships in 6 years. He is nothing like Dooley man.

Ummmm...it is called being in a crap conference....hell, Dooley could have won 7-8 games a year in those pathetic conferences...

Dooley was in a crap conference and didn't win 7-8 games a year.. can you explain that?

Edit: I am talking about when he was at La Tech.
