Cecil The Lion

Seems from the World News story tonight, the dentist has become the most hated man in the US and Africa --- They said even a crisis management business told him to get lost when he asked for help.

He has two options. Retire or volunteer for an organization that provides free health care for the disadvantaged. Or a third option... he can run for political office... Trump's VP running mate perhaps.

your making a statement, like he knew it was a beloved animal..

he legally went to Africa, and legally hunted a lion...
now he's getting crucified, because his guides put him on the "wrong" lion

I saw a report that 800 other hunters killed lions in Africa..
are they getting death threats and having to close their offices and stop working

I don't think it was legal and ignorance of the law is a flawed defense strategy.

right, and in most cases intent places a part in legal prosecution...

everyone that's up in arms, seems to think he went there to kill Cecil...

He paid for the necessary permits, and had the right to kill a lion

It's just a lion..in Zimbabwe..that you never knew existed before this week.

I didn't know that church in South Carolina or the people who attended it existed until they were shot and killed. Guess I shouldn't care about them either.

So mercy killing unwanted cats is comparable to the tragic fashion in which a beloved animal was killed?

A "beloved" animal? It scares me to think than an actual adult male cried or was brought real sadness over the death of a lion that he never met or actually cared for prior to the news of its killing. Do you cry over every animal that is hunted and killed? Does it make a difference if it is hunted legally or illegally? Is the outcome not the same? Does it make it more profound if you give a wild animal a name arbitrarily and then pretend it has human qualities?

Let me break it down to terms that you can understand: a lion is not a person, it does not know the difference between right and wrong; he doesn't love you back and doesn't have a soul; he existed for one purpose and that is to kill or be killed, nothing more. The fact that you and others place human qualities upon him then compare it to the death of unarmed Church members is sad.

so a lion is equal to a human

Not saying that. Just pointing out the absurdity of "not knowing (fill in the blank) existed so why be upset".

It's right up there with A is more important than B so you shouldn't bother caring about both. Just A.

The news story said he bribed the guides -- the same story said it was illegal in both US and Africa and he can be extradited for the crime.

the media has twisted this story into pretzel -- now claims he bribed the guides

What about "George" the deer? Or "Bill" the Turkey? They are killed every Fall and Spring, let's bring charges to every hunter that kills a wild animal that someone has given a name to and protest it all the way to Washington. After all, this faux outrage is nothing more than the Left trying to further regulate hunting rights or make it a political issue. Yet, they defend the deaths of nearly 50 million babies since Roe v. Wade. Of course, their political heroes like Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and Castro single handily were responsible for more deaths of their own people than both World Wars combined. Ahh, the logic of the Left gotta love it.

Lions don't have souls? If I believed in such a thing I would argue that.

There's a lot of humans out there that don't know and/or care about right and wrong and will never "love me back".

Jeez is that all and Clemson fans are distraught over a rock getting broken ?

It's a friggin animal. Let's get torn up over the children in that country who are starving to death and dying of treatable diseases. You know what they'd say? **** Cecil.

Probably since the guides are facing a long prison term and most likely ratted him out or made up stuff to implicate the dentist.

The guy has been on dozens of these trips. He wasn't some ignorant noob.

why do you think he knew that lion had a name

I never said that he did. If the guides took him to a zoo and told him... "there's your lion in that cage over yonder" then he whips out his bow & arrow and bags it, he's not getting away with it by saying "they told me it was okay".
