Mizzou has played no one.
South Dakota
MTSU
K State (decent win)
Memphis
Vandy
LSU (Loss)
KY (we beat them too)
USCe (we beat them too)
they will lose big time to GA this week.

Sagarin has TN = 14 Mizzou = 31
FPI has TN = 15 Mizzou = 24

The only advantage Mizzou has for our game is that it is in Columbia. Other than that if We are healthy and Milton plays like he has the last 2 weeks we beat Mizzou by double digits.

Missouri -Lsu was a close game. Missouri only has one loss. That's why

That was not a decisive win for LSU. A late pick 6 made the margin a lot bigger than it actually was. LSU’s defense was worthless all game.

Yep, I watched the K State v Missouri game, and I won't say Mizzou was lucky but fortunate hit a 61-yard FG with time expiring. The game really fell in their lap but that's home field advantage. Was a good win over #23 K State. that's their best win, I don't think we have a T 25 win so there's that, but I believe if UGA blows them out like i think they will we will be ahead of them in the polls.ext week

Solely from a SEC perspective, we’d likely need the following from Bama, Ole Miss, Mizzou, and Georgia plus us finishing 10-2 aka winning out:

Mizzou - Beat Georgia, Lose to Tennessee
Georgia - Lose to Mizzou, Beat Ole Miss, Lose to Tennessee
Bama - Finish 11-1, Lose to Tennessee in Atlanta
Ole Miss - Lose to Georgia

In short: the above scenario would likely result in Tennessee beating 3 Top 10 teams in CFP Rankings at time of each game in final 4 games of regular season.

Bonus SEC: Texas and OU will play de facto elimination game in Big12 title game

It’s the exact same scenario LSU was in last year as a 2 loss team being highly ranked before they lost to A&M. Basically 10-2 LSU beating #1 UGA in Atlanta would have forced the committee to consider a 2 loss SEC champ vs someone like a 11-1 OSU/Michigan

Remember LSU was ranked #5 going into A&M game and a matchup with #1 UGA on deck and people were freaking out about a 2 Loss SEC Champ getting in before Brian Kelly flopped against Jumbo

Georgia - Beat Missouri, lose to Ole Miss, Lose to Tennessee
Missouri - Lose to Tennessee
Tennessee - Win the rest to finish 10-2
Florida - Lose one of the remaining three games

Could it play out? Not likely as UGA has to lose a game at home. I feel good about us beating Conn and Vandy. Missouri and UGA will depend upon the team playing to their potential like they have done in the good quarters in the last 3 games - but doing that for 4 quarters.

If we do win out, we end up 10-2 and that implies UGA has a least 1 loss Missouri has at least 2 losses and we are at a minimum tied for 2nd in the east. We need help from Ole Miss and/or Missouri.

I'm not getting my hopes up but know it is possible.

If we win out to go 10-2, regardless of what other teams do, we will be in the CFP conversation at the end.
