CFP Scenarios (merged)

I haven't done the whole "clicking back and forth between multiple different games that can help my team survive" thing in FOREVER. This is wild. Fingers crossed we get a few obstacles knocked down tonight.

This guy, a higher SoS undefeated TCU is out but one loss clemson is in

We need there to be only 3 undefeated P5 champs at most, and hope we get the nod as the best one loss

Are you thinking it could be Georgia, TCU, Ohio State/Michigan winner, and Tennessee?

To be safe, I really think we need TCU to lose or the Pac12 not have a 1-loss champion.

Here is my assumption in no certain order:

1 - UGA is a lock for the playoff regardless if they win in Atlanta. 13-0 or 12-1, it doesn't matter for UGA. They locked up a playoff spot today.
2 - Ohio State or Michigan will win the Big Ten
3 - Clemson at 13-0 or 12-1 ACC Champ is in the playoff. 12-1 gets a bit more tricky but I think the CFP would put them back in on name and brand alone if they have a loss but still win the ACC likely over a top 12 ranked UNC team.
4 - This spot is basically down to 3 teams... Tennessee at 11-1, Bama at 12-1 (SEC Champ beating UGA), Ole Miss 12-1 (SEC Champ beating UGA)

For the 4th spot, Tennessee will get in if we are 11-1 and UGA wins in Atlanta. We are not in if UGA loses in Atlanta to a 1 loss SEC West team.... In that scenario, the big TCU lovers here would be heartbroken as their 13-0 Horny Frogs would not make it. UGA at #1 losing in Atlanta would not drop out of the Top 4... They lost last year by 17 points and dropped to #3..... Why would they drop further to #5 and out of the playoff just because of another 13-0 team? Simple answer, they wouldn't.

The CFP ranked TCU at 7 because they don't value their record and style of winning... TCU is struggling to win big against weak opponents and the rest of the schedule consists of 2 and 3 loss teams at worst. Additionally, whoever they play in the Big 12 title game will a 2 loss team at best.... They simply don't have remaining opponents that these 10-14 point winning margins will push them up the rankings....

Like today for example, they won by 10 over Texas Tech.... If Clemson comes back and wins vs ND, there is nothing that happened today with the top 6 teams that would cause TCU to move up the rankings... And that is where TCU's season is: relying on teams ahead of them to mess up... TCU can't just play their way into a playoff spot given their current margins... They need to be hanging 50 and blowing people out.... They aren't.

An undefeated TCU will get in. A 1-loss TCU will not. I think the committee has them so low right now because they don't think they will go unbeaten. However, that could change in a heart beat. Cincinnati got in last year.

We definitely need Georgia to win out now if we want to make CFB. Clemson and TCU losing will help us. We also need Oregon, USC, and UCLA to all drop a game.

Well, right now, Bama is getting beat and Clemson is being dominated by a 5-3 ND! Looking better for the good guys

If UGA loses to Bama and both are 12-1, TCU at 13-0 will 100000% not get in my above scenario.

Last year UGA was #1 going into Atlanta, lost to a 1 loss Bama by 17 points and dropped 2 spots...... Not sure they would drop 4 spots in same scenario just because there is a 13-0 TCU out there. And yes, Clemson being the ACC Champ with 0 or 1 loss will be in the playoff.....

The infatuation with TCU by some is amazing

If Georgia loses to Alabama, we are screwed. It will definitely be Alabama and Georgia.

You can think TCU at 13-0 has a shot at the playoff or you can just get sober...... Your choice, but one is fantasy world...
lol. Tcu isn’t going 13-0. And…. That doesn’t matter if bama and Clemson lose tonight. Amd what does being sober have to do with it? Did I say I was drinking today??? What 1 loss team is in ahead of Tennessee mr sober guy?
