CFP Scenarios (merged)

If Georgia loses to Alabama, we are screwed. It will definitely be Alabama and Georgia.

Well I was told there is no scenario where a 13-0 TCU would miss the pllayoff. IF they miss it with a UGA loss in Atlanta, they is a strong case they'd miss it with a 13-0 UGA and 11-1 Tenn sitting out there.

We need UGA to go 13-0.... That is like 99% of the battle. They do that, we are in the playoff full stop. You could maybe make the argument that TCU and Clemson are competing for a single playoff spot against each other but I am very skeptical that CFP would keep a 12-1 Clemson ACC champ out of the playoff....

I just don't think the sky is falling. I fully expect us to be at 5 at worst and 4 at best on Tuesday night.

No loss P5 teams get in, its a fact you havent been able to explain your way out of other than these worthless personal guarantees

We're being objective because i personally have never met a damn TCU fan in my life

Your love for clemson on the other hand....

Doubtful. Clemson losing tonight but finishing 12-1 ACC Champ is very much likely in the playoff based on their name and politics. Good chance UNC is ranked top 12 top in that title game as well.

TCU is completely irrelevant regardless of record
I think we will have more bonefides than Clemson if we both finish with one loss. We’ll see if it actually happens that way.

The loss today does not hurt that much with (a) wins against Bama and LSU although one will lose tonight and (b) UGA's defense has not lost all that much performance-wise from last year. They can do that to anyone they might play.

The Vols could use some help, but at 11-1 with a UGA SEC Champion, gotta like the odds to be in the CFP. It would be glorious to get the rematch in the Final.

I think TCU would get in over Tennessee. We don't have the name/logo that Alabama and Georgia have to pass over an undefeated, power 5 Champion.

Trust me, we need them to lose and frankly, I don't see them going unbeaten anyways.

Same. I wouldn't have said that two weeks ago but all of their quality wins have fallen a part. Syracuse won't be ranked after today and Wake Forest is falling a part. Clemson struggled to survive both of those games. Notre Dame is also beating them worse than Georgia beat us. No way Clemson over comes this if Notre Dame continues to pull away.

I do too. I don't think 11-1 UT and 12-1 ACC Champ Clemson woudl be battling for the same playoff spot. I think 12-1 / 13-0 Clemson as ACC Champ is in regardless.

I don’t think the committee is going to give them much consideration based on what I’ve been hearing all week.

I am not saying that you are 100% wrong but I think they are going to get a real look if they are 13-0. A 13-0 team is going to be more attractive than an 11-1 team that didn't win their conference.

Can we hope for some internal bleeding?

Clemson needs to lose, Bama needs another lose. Potentially a TCU loss. Even if all that happens we we'd still have to play Georgia again to win a championship. It's been a nice season but unfortunately all we get now is a chance at 11-1.
I have us at a 3 at the end of year. With a matchup with GA

Keep in mind we also need to win out. Missouri has been giving some people fits and South Carolina has confidence. I think we win both but it isn't 100% given.

Agree to disagree. I think CFP just doesn't value TCU that much... They have some nice wins but they are struggling weekly with bad teams.... 10 point wins vs WVU and Texas Tech aren't going to cut it week in and out. They need to start blowing people out rest of the their schedule. Especially since they don't have any more 0 or 1 loss opponents left.

I agree except we still should pull for ga to lose next eeek and at Kentucky.

Then kiss your playoff chances goodbye. Georgia will be the No.1 team in the nation next week. And the team that beat us.. we want our only loss to be to the No.1 team

Question is, if Bama loses and Clemson loses do they slide Michigan to 3? I assume at that point we drop to 4

What if this score holds and a three-loss team beats Clemson by 3 TDs?
