Been thinking about Tee as an addition here and CBJ's comments that he'd reach out. It would seem to make sense to give UT a long look at this point. Kiffin will be on the hot seat next year, so Tee will be as well if he remains. UT would seem to be the better job security for now, as a new staff here is going to be guaranteed (barring a meltdown of epic proportions) 3 years, so job security looks to be slightly better here at the moment. Thoughts?

Also, have there been any actual reports of contact yet, or any comments about Tee's interest in a spot on this staff?

For a young upcoming coach, job security should'nt matter. Somebody will pick Tee if he is available!

Hope he comes to UT!

99% sure this will happen. RT @ClayTravisBGID: Butch Jones first move at UT should be to add Tee Martin to staff.

I don't see why Tee would leave SC for a lateral move. The Jones Boys are taking the top spots here, and Tee has it cush in L.A. coaching a potential Heisman candidate. But we could help him get a bump, unless we're willing to pay serious coin.

He could go ahead and make the move since ole Lane and Co arent guaranteed to be around. A Heisman candidate? I kid is good but its about near impossible for WR to win the Heisman.

Call me crazy, but I kind of like the idea of Tee coaching QBs, and specifically Woulard should he be a lock as people are saying.

If a phone call reall took place and Tee was offered, he will come.

GO BUTCHER VOLS!

I read in the Coaching update thread that Jones had said phone call with TJ and Tee. I would bet that since the rest of his Cincy staff came then TJ will get the gig.

You Don't see why he would leave SC for same position here? How about returning to his Alma mater and helping restore our winning tradition, among several other reasons.

Why do you have such an obsession with T Martin? If I coached with the same staff for six years, then I am bringing that success with me. Why do I want a whole new staff that I have to get to know? Let it go and let the coach do his job! Do you have better credentials for picking a staff than he does? How long were you a head coach in college?

A chance to coach at the school that gave him as a student athlete a chance for an education and being a QB in the SEC....where he is a legend....where he made SEC and Tennessee Football history with a SEC and National Championship trophy and ring? Yeah if USC was Kiffin's dream job then I doubt it would be Martin's too....given the circumstances.

Now with that being said I would think Jones' WR coach/recruiting coordinator that is an ex-Bama guy is going to be the next offensive coach addition to the staff.

How am I obsessed with T Martin? CBJ is the one that said Tee was great and that he'd reach out to him. I'm simply discussing the possibility of whether it actually gets done. Get a clue (and a dictionary).

It'll take some $$. I don't see why Tee would make a lateral move when he's in a good spot.

Don't think Lee would win, but he's got a shot at being nominated if he has the year he's capable of having.

We'll have to make him an attractive offer. It would be insulting not to give him a bump, especially when we've passed over him twice before.

I think he could with the Ship sinking in LA, I get that its not much better here but at least we fixed the leaks.

Jay Graham left the OTHER s.c. and a Heisman candidate (Lattimore) to coach @ his alma mater.
I think players make these choices based on heart as well as logic.

I agree he might come, and I hope he does. I don't think it's a given, however, and I won't be surprised if he stays at SC another year.

That's fine and all, but to say you see no reason he would leave SC for the same position at Tennessee is laughable for the obvious reason already pointed out. But I'm with you, hope he ends up back in Knoxville.

I couldn't imagine wanting to continue working for Kiffin, if you get a better offer elsewhere, If Jones is serious about bringing him here, and gives him what he is worth, I bet he'll be on the first flight out, it would be a natural fit and win/win situation.

When coach Jones said he would reach out to letter men, I think he was allowing to the fact that Dooley required letter men to call and make an appointment to be able to come in and talk or come to a practice. I don't think he had any intention of hiring a less qualified letter man over a more qualified coach.

Wouldnt be shocked to see him get a title like "Co-OC", "associate head coach" or something like that. I think Trooper Taylor was CO-OC at OSU with Fedora .UK had Joker as HC and a role in offense, Sanders, and Tee. I think one was "[passing game coordinator" and one was "head coach of offense" while Joker I think called some plays. Just seems like titles matter even if duties dont change much. I have seen teams with "associate HC and Assistant HC". Just throwing it out there, my info may be off.

A lateral move to his alma mater. Since you live there, you have a better idea of just how much more expensive it is to live in Los Angeles compared to Knoxville. Do you have any idea what assistant coaches on USC's staff make and, thus, how much it would take to make at least a comparable offer, given Knoxville's lower cost of living?
