Chances for Tee Martin

Been thinking about Tee as an addition here and CBJ's comments that he'd reach out. It would seem to make sense to give UT a long look at this point. Kiffin will be on the hot seat next year, so Tee will be as well if he remains. UT would seem to be the better job security for now, as a new staff here is going to be guaranteed (barring a meltdown of epic proportions) 3 years, so job security looks to be slightly better here at the moment. Thoughts?

Also, have there been any actual reports of contact yet, or any comments about Tee's interest in a spot on this staff?
No one on this site knows anything of any significance. I hope Tee Martin does come back to Knoxville, that would be great. But no one here knows whether he will or not.

Tee is a great recruiter he got the best player in Tennessee, he is a soft verbal according to Rivals. I am just saying why not try to get Tee?

He's a great recruiter, but I believe there are some question marks with his coaching ability.

LWSVOL stated there may be contract concerns for Tee leaving USC? Anyone else have any info regarding this?

I would be ecstatic if we were able to add Tee to the staff. He's an up and coming coach who did a excellent job with the receivers at USC this year. He's a hell of a recruiter who has ties to this area, and he already has experience coaching in the SEC. Oh and not to mentions he's a true Tennessee boy who won a championship here and is beloved by our university and fans. He is an all around excellent fit here and adding him to the staff should be one of CBJ's top priorities IMO. He belongs here and you would have to think that he would love to be back. Get it done coach Jones.

Vols, Butch!

I`m ok with Tee coming here. But, if CBJ thinks there is a better QB or WR coach available and does not make an offer to him I`m ok with that too.

It's laughable how there was so much hand-wringing from our fans about Dooley losing coaches and recruits because of the hot seat he was on but nobody even acknowledges the fact that Kiffin possibly being on a hot seat himself could be a reason for Tee to look at coming home.

Kiffin is not a coach you go after Kiffin is a coach you end up with, as soon as USC has it's NCAA probation behind them they will certainly be looking for a ' coach that you go after'

Why do you have such an obsession with T Martin? If I coached with the same staff for six years, then I am bringing that success with me. Why do I want a whole new staff that I have to get to know? Let it go and let the coach do his job! Do you have better credentials for picking a staff than he does? How long were you a head coach in college?

Hart probably advised Jones that it would be a good idea to retain a couple of staff members and both Graham and Martin were the two links to the school, state, and program, but Jones comment about reaching out to "T" seemed to be a qualified remark. He said, "we will reach out to "T," but we will reach out to several."

I read in the Coaching update thread that Jones had said phone call with TJ and Tee. I would bet that since the rest of his Cincy staff came then TJ will get the gig.

If TJ was first choice he would already have the job. IMO it's Tee's if he wants it.

Bring Tee home!!! He will be a good fit in Butch Jones' offensive system. He can turn Nathan Peterman into a beast

Kiffin's seat is not that hot, at least not yet. He has the good fortune to work for one of the best AD's (Pat Haden) around. Haden was a cool, calm, collected, never panic QB and that has carried over into his highly successful business life. He will give Kiffin time to recover from the impact of probation. Monte leaving will probably result in 1 to 2 more wins per year since Monte could never grasp how to defend spread offenses. Also, the fan base only tunes in during the season and usually that means they show up just before halftime on gameday.

Kiffin has already had three years and this year's debacle, 7-5, after Kiff himself voting USC number one and then apparently lying about it, plus the other small transgressions, which is the Kiffin m.o., hasn't pleased even the laid-back Haden. So, Kiffin is on a short leash by most estimates, and he probably needs at least eight victories next year to keep his job. Another 7-5 season and Haden will feel a lot of pressure from several quarters to remove Kiffin.
