Changes to staff?

@KendallRogersPG: Good stuff. RT @NWAMatt: Tony Vitello's #Arkansas contract -- 2 yrs, worth $150,000 yrly, w/ additional $15,000 for speaking engagements.

The coach that just left tcu is now making 150k. So I would say its safe to assume he was making less at TCU. Mo was making 127k in Knoxville. I think it's pretty clear he is making a lateral move at best salary wise.

Losing an assistant coach to a successful program is not a crisis. It's a sign somebody in the baseball world thinks you're doing something right. Having an assistant leave without already having a new job lined up would be a sign of a problem. But this is normal business. It is extremely hard to make a career in college baseball and to have a sane family life. These guys are clawing for whatever piece of security or stability they can get in a demanding and volatile job field. I don't know why Mo left, but most likely it's nothing more than TCU looking like the next best step as he navigates the minefield he chose as a career.

Losing a volunteer assistant to a full-time paid position elsewhere is also not a crisis. It's like when your kids grow up and move out. You miss them, but that's what they're expected to do.

This is solid IMO.

I have been on te team. This is not a negative move. It's going to be alright. Serrano has a great class coming in. We just need a good young energetic guy that's it. Relax

I was the one promoting this as great news. Crazy how some of you twist words on here.

You have come off as being negative. Idc what ya think. I am excited to see who serrano brings in. Coach Mo was great but it will be alright.

My speculation on why mo left is negative I agree. The end result will be very positive IMO.

Folks are being hard on Bruin. I asked him what he thought, he simply answered my question, he didn't start a riot. He brought the info, he said it was good news.

Now...I'm ready to see what kind of names get tossed around for the job. Before moving on completely...they could have texted the players regarding all of this, I mean they should have. They're spread out all over the place and found out via twitter, that's just inconsiderate imo. AWWWWRIGHT!

Besides Bohannon, who else ya got?

Saw Kendall Rogers mention Aric Thomas

Then if it's such good news why the negative speculation. Just seems to contradict himself. I think it's quite insulting to make baseless accusations then act like I'm the one with the problem.

He left for a reason. It's plenty fair to speculate why he left regardless if its good or bad. Wasn't it you that speculated he left because he couldn't get along with another strong willed colleague??

No it wasn't me that said that.

I find it hard to believe that dude would leave OU, unless there's some sort of connection to CDS.

Feel the same way about Bohannon, think it would be a hard pull getting him here.

Va Tech's new old head coach Pete Hughes left to take over the Oklahoma job and did not retain him.

He said he thought it was good news. Then he said he regretted that statement fearing that some might not think it's good news.

I asked him his opinion once the news broke, he gave it. I don't see what the big deal is.

I mean, how should I say it...it's perfectly natural to wonder why a coach leaves. We all know we'll probably never know, or at least we should by now. It's reasonable to wonder if it was mutual, or based on something else, or this or that.

Both men have strong personalities. If I had to speculate right now, it would be more likely that it was a personality conflict. Mo came here after being a Mgr in the professional ranks, maybe he had different ideas than Serrano.

Mind explaining your speculation here?

Sorry, retain who?

Aric Thomas, his bio is still up on the OU website but that is just because they have not had time to update it yet. Hughes kept OU's old pitching coach but replaced Thomas with Nebraska's old head coach

No, the bottom line is he takes his negativity to the football side as well. Everything he spits has a negative twist to it. There's more than a track record here. You might wanna follow his posts in other threads before you take his side.

The negativity is so played out its not even funny. It's surrounded our Athletic Department for some time now. Bruin is a key culprit in spreading the negativity. There is a trend, that's really the only way to slice it. But that's alright, y'all fellas enjoy your miserable lives. I'm gonna try and look on the bright side of things.

So now we are bringing previous grudges to this!! Lol

Perhaps we just can't get along because we are strong minded individuals. Maybe thats why we could never work together!

Slow up man...I rarely go to the football forum anymore, so I don't know who posts what over there. I'm as cup half full a guy as you'll ever meet. Of course, there are times in life where you have to be honest with yourself too. I can be plenty negative about UT, because there is plenty of reason to be...say the track team for instance. I can also be very negative to posters who think we should see improvement in (pick your sport) in 2 years.

None of this was that. I'm defending him because I asked the question, got him in trouble apparently, and I think some are over reacting...TO THIS PARTICULAR THING.

About this time two years ago we were having knock down drag outs in here, if you think this is negative you missed initiation week.

Yeah, my speculation is just as mindless as your's. I also speculated that maybe there was a murder involved and there was a need to get out of town. Just proving anyone can make something up and throw it out there on a message board.

Glad to see your glass is still half cracked!:hi:
