Charges Dropped in the Jussie Smollett Case

I think you have to admire the balls to go from 16 felony counts to $10k fine, a couple days community service, and no admission of guilt. And it’s not like this is some backwater case that will never see the front page of a paper. It’s a very big stage and someone came in and said nah it’s going to go like this. And the Chicago machine went right along with it. And they flipped off the mayor and police chief while they were at it. That’s the same system you and I would face if we were to run afoul of the law, and I can guarantee it won’t take that sort of leniency on us.

Jussie got a favor called in... that is clear. And it came from the upper branches of the dimtree.

Second... I am now convinced LG is not a real person, but a software program designed to detect a conservative opinion and counter with a bunch of liberal bs. Mick and Luth are beta versions of the LG Program... they come with updated algorithms developed by Soros to bite a little harder.
Luther is definitely in beta test. I’ve yet to see his AI develop a cogent argument. It mostly just gets stuck in circular logic loops.

The Mayor knew of the deal, he’s acting.

If any of this spit hes saying is true then dayum. This goes deep.

Is this Foxx chick gonna lose her license too?

Illinois Prosecutors Bar Association released a pretty damning statement. Heres a portion from an article with NBC Chicago:

Ill. Prosecutors Group Calls Smollett Case 'Highly Unusal'

The Illinois Prosecutors Bar Association on Thursday called the dismissal of charges against "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett "highly unusual."

The association, which says its represents nearly 1,000 prosecutors across the state, said the handling of the case and the events of the past few days are "not condoned."

"The manner in which this case was dismissed was abnormal and unfamiliar to those who practice law in criminal courthouses across the state," the association said in a statement. "Prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges alike do not recognize the arrangement Mr. Smollett received. Even more problematic, the State’s Attorney and her representatives have fundamentally misled the public on the law and circumstances surrounding the dismissal."

Among the issues the association said it had with the case were the fact that Foxx did not appoint a special prosecutor from outside her office to handle the case following her recusal, that the public was not notified of what was happening and that her office "falsely informed the public that the uncontested sealing of the criminal court case was 'mandatory' under Illinois law."

Somebody big has used her and is throwing her ass under the bus.

That bus is going to hit reverse several times too. Her tunnel vision makes her unqualified for her position, alone. Not to mention career ending consequences or worse...corruption possibilities. It's amazing that anyone thought this was going to be swept under the rug.

Can't say I watch Empire, but saw an article earlier that Taraji P. Henson(one of the main actors) says she expects Jussie back next season. Cannot understand why Fox wouldn't fire his ass. It makes no sense, other than Hollywood is extremely forgiving of liberals. A conservative would definitely have been fired IMO.

No. She will be put on a pedestal. That is how the left rolls. She will be allowed to wear this like a badge of honor. She will lay low for a bit and then go in the alphabet talk show tour. So will the pillow biting actor. They will join a long list of people that have done misdeeds and never paid for it.

I don't think this thread is going to go the way you think. You have already drawn the wrong conclusions. I did too but in light of this new information, you really have to suspect police misconduct.

Classic post that didn't age well. He was even made fun of at the NAACP Awards. The poster is sadly naive and this post ruins the legitimacy of anything else he/she has to say.

I have taken plenty of shots at Jussie. What he is accused of is disturbing and why the charges were dropped is disturbing. If you're not on the same page as that, I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah well it's not 'police misconduct' as you suggested but rather the prosecutors office. Happy to see you "on the same page" now.

Well you completely missed the point, the system is letting justice down and that's on top of what I think about Jussie. Plus bumping a post from the beginning of the discussion before more information was out, does not reflect my current understanding.

Then dont make statements that fall closer to absolute without all the information?

I agree with your statement on justice as it stands now.
