Charges Dropped in the Jussie Smollett Case

Who could have ended up being compromised by this case? Obviously it's someone with a lot of influence..... a lot of influence

Smollett took a plea deal from the prosecutors, this obviously included him pleading guilty. This also included him paying a 10K fine. The problem is that the Chicago police department is actually overstepping their bounds. Their job is to arrest a suspect, gather necessary information and then turn that over to the prosecutors. That is where their power stops. After that it is up to the prosecutors and judicial system to handle the rest.

As for the city trying to get money out of Smollett for the investigation, that's just laughable and they won't get a dime from him. 130 grand is nothing to the city of Chicago and truthfully that's probably a greatly inflated dollar amount for the purposes of the media.

He didn't plead guilty as far as I know.

How many local police matters did Obama's justice department investigate? I seem to remember quite a few.

How many of those involved high profile homicides? Despite that, how many of those did you think were a good idea for him to weigh in on? It was a poor idea then and a worse idea now.

I don't disagree. Was more pointing out that LG didn't complain about it when the former did it.

Question for you on this...

Who should check the DA's office to see if there was any undue influence or corruption that led to what happened?
