Charges Dropped in the Jussie Smollett Case

I never paid much attention to this story. I assumed he was guilty because that was the narrative. What actual confirmed evidence is there?

And if history is correct, no one has gotten off lightly for doing such a thing. Wonder what will happen here....

The check he wrote to the guys and video of them purchasing stuff to pull it off. Pretty open and shut.

Three things that stick out:

1. Forfeits $10k bond. If he’s innocent why forfeit $10k?
2. A former Michelle Obama aide got involved. NYT has confirmed this.
3. Record are supposedly sealed. Again, if innocent why seal records?


Lots of sweeping under the rug going on when he says he’s innocent.

AFAIK - testimony from the "muggers", video footage of the "muggers" buying the supplies, magazines and other documents that supposedly match up with the items cut up and used to create the threatening letter, text messages and calls between JS and the "muggers", the check to the "muggers

I agree totally. That's the expectation. But she apparently still feels when you slip a few thousand into her robe to help balance things in your favor.

Or well connected. Had a feeling pressure would be brought by people with a vested interest in him not being prosecuted.

Witnesses to what? Did they see the assault and say they could tell the assault was fake? Who are they? Or has everybody just taken the police's word for it?

Witness testimony falls apart all the time. Eye witness evidence isn't extremely reliable, even if the witness seems credible.

Witnesses as in the guys he paid to do it.
