Why not?
To not support someone from day one is simple prejudice, and I am not speaking about race. To not support the new hire (whoever it is regardless of reason) without giving him the opportunity to prove himself is to pass unfavorable judgment without merit the definition of prejudice.
A difference of opinion based on variously interpretable results is one thing. In such context I can understand the aforementioned rift. Just like what we have been through with DD (post hire).
This fan base needs to come together to support whomever is hired until they have been given the opportunity to prove themselves.
Bet youd be back on board if we are playing for a championship in 3 years which begs the question, what defines a fair weather fan?
And people wonder why our fan base is divided. Well, I certainly am divided from this way of thinking.
Go Vols!!
I have wanted Strong since the start. I knew Gruden was a LONG shot at best. I really do not get all of the Strong hate that we have on here. I know his opponents stink, but the guy is beating who is on his schedule, period. He is a proven recruiter, and a stud defensive minded coach, all things we need.
His recruiting back ground in Florida alone will pay dividends immediately.
Then we are doomed.:cray:Florida hired Urban from Utah, and then Muschamp as DC at Texas.
A & M hired Sumlin from Houston.
Georgia hired Richt from Fl. St. as OC I believe.
LSU hired Miles from OK St., and hired Saban from Mich St.
But none of those guys have had any success at all. If we don't get Gruden or Stoops we are doomed.
