Charlie Strong

there is not much to sell at uva either but mike london seems to get consistent top 25 classes.

Virginia is a much better football state than Kentucky. The talent in Virginia is much better than the state of Tennessee. Also Virginia is a smart school so that counts as "something to sell."

Uninformed post, London has a sh1t ton of instate talent to live off of and a conference that is held in higher regard than the big east. Hell, the big east is essentially becoming the new conference usa and it has been known for years that they will lose there AQ status.

they averaged #41 in the 4 years prior and #22 since. just seems like an improvement to me.

The Strong supporters are doing their best to deflect any criticism off of him.....if u question his recruiting at UL they respond with " we'll it's bc kids don't want to play at UL" or "top50 recruiting class at UL is awesome"...that is why it's called RECRUITING, you are suppose to sell them on the program....if he can't sell kids to come to winning team in the Big East, how can you expect him to sell kids to come to a TN team that has been struggling in the SEC?....if u bring up the conference he plays in or the PATHETIC schedule he had this yr, they respond with "he can't help what teams he plays" or "he beat those in front of him" ....his opponents record are something to the effect of 57-82 this yr...he only played 4teams with a winning record....so we really don't know how good he can coach

No he didn't recruit like Strong. He just knows how to coach them up.

Without looking, I think they recruited similar.. Strong has landed a few high ranked guys, but don't think his classes have been lights out or anything.

Considering Strong has some outstanding recruiting ties to Florida and has been endorsed by nearly every national columnist as a great recruiter, I don't see that as a problem.

and who would you like to be the HC? Because im sure i can make your guy sound like he can't cut it too if i dont like him.

there is not a huge difference in petrinos class average and strongs. add em up and average em out!

There is a huge difference in Strong's classes and Petrino's classes in terms of recruiting ability. Petrino's rankings were boosted by Louisville's low academic standards allowing him to get highly ranked Jucos that couldn't get in many other places. When you look at the teams he beat out it is not very impressive. Strong on the other hand has gone into North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida and gotten some top high school recruits over programs like USC, Auburn, Clemson, Miami, Tennessee, South Carolina, and many others.

Sounds more and more like what we were told about dooley. Pay no attention to the facts, it's just because it is Louisville.

Our Fanbase is really going to miss out in a very good coach. Dooley couldn't beat teams with equal teams as him. Strong won the big East with a Big East team. They lost to the same Syracuse that went into SEC country and got them a win.
