Charlie Strong

and who would you like to be the HC? Because im sure i can make your guy sound like he can't cut it too if i dont like him.

I want Patterson or Petrino.....I'm just giving you the facts of his schedule and what league he is in, also considering WVU is not there anymore makes it even worse....if he wasn't in the Big East he wouldn't be sniffing a BCS Bowl....Patterson did in a non qualifying league and won the Rose Bowl.....Petrino just wins, maybe not in civilian life, but in coach life he wins and has done it in the SEC

Is he independently wealthy?

How much does it cost to live on the liberal coast?

with my math shaw takes home less than 800k a yr in one of the highest cost places to live. in tn he would take home 5 times that with no state income tax based on 6m per, and have a much lower cost of living.

he would reallyyyyyy love stanford to turn that down.

As a resident of Arkansas I can state emphatically that EVERYBODY on anyone's list should be considered before Petrino. UT sold its soul once already (see Lane Kiffin). We don't want to be the next program to be Petrinoed.

Glad you brought them up. You know Louisville beat them last year even thou they won the Big East. Patterson is the better hire imo. Petrino won't be able to get the recruits he wants to bring UT back to the top because of his past. Your hate for Charlie Strong makes no sense. He beats Big East teams with a Big East team. He could do the same at Tennessee. Dooley couldn't beat a ranked team or a team that is equal to his.

Well he beat WVU last and still went 7-5.....

Wow would you let them at least get to 20 recruits before we judge their recruiting class. They only have 9 commits. I bet if Strong stays, they will be at least number 2.

then maybe he can beat Connecticut next year.

oh so its low academic standards now... ok.

Oh, so when your posts are proven to be uninformed you just kind of brush it to the side. It is a well known fact that Petrino lived off of jucos like Marcel Benson who's only other offer was houston due to academic concerns. He was not outrecruiting top programs like Strong has been.

Charlie sucks. We don't want him. He's way too dull to recruit well and pull enough highly rated recruits from other states. He would do no better than Dooley did.

Besides, he's only had 1 decent year in the pathetic Big (L)East.

I'd much rather have Franklin. That sucker can recruit !!!

Our Fanbase is really going to miss out in a very good coach. Dooley couldn't beat teams with equal teams as him. Strong won the big East with a Big East team. They lost to the same Syracuse that went into SEC country and got them a win.

Luckily those are not the people who make the decisions.

The same Franklin that got beat by the Big 10's finest Northwestern. He has only beat one team going to a bowl and that is Ole Miss. They got mopped by Texas.

Maybe you should do a little research before trying to base an argument on a recruiting class that is far from being finished. The complete classes that he has had before this he has either finished 1st in the big east or second behind rutgers (who has an enormous amount of talent). You never see anybody that runs away with their conference in recruiting. The Big East is an average conference at best and it is going to be tough to recruit players of a higher caliber into it (especially at louisville where you don't have much instate talent). What is impressive is that he has been able to beat out schools like USC, Auburn, Clemson, and Miami to get kids to come play for louisville and the big east. That class last year also included 3 US Army All Americans.

Rutgers has an enormous amount of talent? OK. Can't argue with that.

He's only been there 3 years. You realize there is no free agency in College football. You can't just rebuild the entire roster in the first year. Rebuilding takes longer than one year. He took a team from 4-8 to 10-2 in 3 years. Comparing that to Dooley is stupid.

Meant to put instate talent to recruit from. And no, you can't argue with that, New Jersey is a recruiting hotbed.

Did anyone WANT Dooley? No. So, the question is irrelevant.

OK you downplayed his 10-2 year when you have teams like Alabama that is about to go to the National Championship. Alabama had played only 2 good team and they lost to one of them before the SEC championship. As long as you beat people on your schedule, You will be a good coach. I bet you would be the same person that would downplay Kevin Sumlin because Houston plays in CUSA.

I haven't researched it, but I think it would be a pretty safe bet that Alabama schedules are tremendously tougher than Big Least schedules....

24 - 15 record over 3 years in a very weak Big East. That record doesn't make me feel like he is right guy for UT and the SEC.
