That is a far cry from beheading somebody and publicly displaying their crucified corpse.

I think child rapists are the scum of the earth and I don't mind cruel and unusual punishments for these dirt bags. However, I am looking at this from a constitutional stand point. Things like beheading and public crucifiction is exactly what the eighth amendment is there to protect against.

A lot of crimes are cruel and unusual. That doesn't change what the constitution says on the punishment for the perpetrators though.

I guess you want to go back to the days of the inquisition and witch hunt tortures?

If you rape a woman or child, or murder an innocent person I could careless how a society decides to rid their country of the offender.

Don't worry its never going to happen here too many bleeding hearts. So just relax.

Maybe they should take him up for an airplane ride and at, say, 25,000 feet he accidentally fals out of a broken door in the plane.

What is considered cruel and unusual? Its different to everyone, obviously what you think is cruel and unusal I think is fair justice.

But to show my support for both amendments at the same time, put 1 bullet in his head.

Cruel and unusual punishment would be beheading and crucifying someone for stealing apples at the farmer's market... not raping little kids.


No one is p**sing on the 8th Amendment.

I'm a supporter of capital punishment, but let's not pretend that using it more liberally will make crime go down. Especially in cases of pedophilia, where the recidivism rate is higher than any other crime. These people are wicked to the core, and have tunnel vision for what they want without regard to consequences.

I also think it is extremely silly to suggest a public beheading and crucifiction isn't cruel and unusual meant to be protected by the 8th amendment.

How exactly is a beheading and crucifixion cruel and unusual punishment. I'll give you it may be unusual but cruel?? A beheading takes less than a second to kill you and then they crucify you after you're dead. I don't see how this is any different from electrocution, lethal injection, hanging, or firing squad.

Now if you were crucified first that would be another story.

There is some evidence that the head remains conscious for a few seconds after a beheading.

if people that raped little children or commited murder in this country thought that this form of punishment had a 20% chance of happening to them, i am guessing some of them would think twice. i say bring it on for ALL of em.

If they are blatantly guilty of a crime like those, it should be mandatory to show severe punishment like this IMO.

Sitting in a cell with A/C, 3 hots and a cot, and all the other crap that WE pay for to house them, is insane.

Sharpen the sword or leave it dull, either way start chopping.

I have no idea whether this guy did it or not, and there really isn't way I could know, but I'm all for child rapists getting the worst treatment imaginable.
