I knew you would try to go there. Beheading and crucifying a rapist of children is not cruel and unusual... the punishment fits the crime.
Besides, at the time of the Bill of Rights, firing squads and hangings were common place.
That is a far cry from beheading somebody and publicly displaying their crucified corpse.
The punishment fits the crime? Says who?
I think child rapists are the scum of the earth and I don't mind cruel and unusual punishments for these dirt bags. However, I am looking at this from a constitutional stand point. Things like beheading and public crucifiction is exactly what the eighth amendment is there to protect against.
