2 nuclear armed countries have never gone to war before. There is no precedent. None. We do not yet know how humans respond in such a scenario...for Louder and the other fellow war buffs here...Has there ever been a battle or war in which both sides posessed a deadlier weapon that what was commonly used at the time, but showed the restraint to actually refrain from using the most destructive weapon available to them?
Is it even possible for us to begin losing most or all of our surface Navy fleet with all those sailors to cruise missiles etc and us choose NOT to use our nuclear armed subs which are SURELY right near China to start annihilating every major military base at a minimum...if not Beijing itself? The submarines are without a doubt the biggest deterrent of the nuclear triad...for those who arent familiar, the reason is because they give us the 1st strike advantage in any nuclear exchange due to their ability to get in very close range of China, Russia, Iran etc and therefore have the shortest flight times to impact versus ICBMs from our mainland installation silos or the closest nuclear capable bombers. Each nuclear attack sub carries around 30 Trident cruise missiles with nuclear warheads many times as powerful as those dropped on Hiroshima or Nagasaki. A single sub, if able to launch all its missiles could destroy every major city in China...and i believe we have over a dozen at sea on any given day out there silently beneath the waves..
Like many here, I am pissed that our leaders have dropped the ball and not listened to the ChiComs over the lasy decade...as they have repeatedly told anyone who would listen that they were preparing for war. I am also pissed that we have without a doubt THE most inept president at least since WW2 in office...and that while China is openly preparing for war with US , we are sending billions of $ worth of our weapons, equipment, and ammunition to Ukraine...which only further weakens us. All of these things are terrible, and makes this a great time for China to attack and draw us into a war through their carefully laid traps in the South China Sea...we have been so very stupid and it will cost us dearly. I think the real question is though:
Will we take an azzwhipping in the Asian theatre losing thousands of young US soldiers, sailors, and airmen...without launching the dozens of nuclear warheads we already have lurking silently beneath the seas there in retaliation???
Should we?
Should we mind our own damn business and worry about only our own country and interests?
What do you gents think,?
