China Thread

I would like to personally thank the government and corporate leaders for setting this in motion. Forget the fact that they have been stealing trillions of dollars of IP and yet you allow the CCP to continue without consequence.

You had the military talking today about how China’a military could be more superior than ours by mid-century.

What in the hell are we doing just sitting back while our biggest enemy/threat is getting stronger? We had better get ready for this collision of militaries and culture.

Mid century is a joke to me. Our ICBM and SSBN force is long in tooth and already planned for replacement with programs that will cost hundreds of billions of dollars. With loss of WCR and $31T in debt..I don't ever seeing replacement happening. Plans for 100+ B-21 worth hundreds of billions, a recapitalization of tactical assets, etc.

For $31T in debt, one would at least hope we had a modernized force and a fantastic infrastructure, yet our polls have squandered and stolen our wealth.

And what exactly should the US military do?

We're already defeating Russia without "directly " engaging them.

I think more people need to learn to think and not just soak up news feeds.

United States is slowing solidifying the first 1 world authority.

I got to hear this. How?

While I agree with him that NATO is growing stronger by adding new members to include Ukraine as soon as this war is over...this admin and the US hasn't done that! Russia did it by being belligerent azzholes and attacking their neighbors. So the former Soviet states who fear annexation are all wanting to join NATO now...and only because of the war in Ukraine and intense pressure from member nations in Western Europe will these couple new countries be allowed to join.

Trump strengthened our ties to Japan and Australia in the pacific as well...but the simple fact that the Chicoms and Russia are now tighter than ever puts us in a MORE precarious position than we were 20 , 10, or even 5 years ago.

While the potato in chief has spent TRILLIONS of fecking dollars on build back better BS which has accomplished exactly as much as everything else he has done...ZER0...China has been steadily cranking out warships and for the 1st time in modern history, we do not have the largest navy on Earth. They have more ships than we do...granted, we have more nuclear attack subs by far, and more aircraft carriers than all the rest of the world COMBINED...but just like in every other aspect China goes for quantity over quality. They plan to defeat us with shear numbers. As they say, "quantity has a quality all its own." With the current plans in motion to wussify the Marine Corps, the lack of new recruits in all of our armed services etc...we are setting ourselves up to get our azzes handed to us. Nuclear war will be the only option....and nobody wins a nuclear war except the devil himself.

There have been a lot of surprises and lessons learned on the Ukrainian battlefields. If the Russians got their act together like the Ukrainians (with help) have done, tank warfare would look like very risky business all around ... for tankers. With drone spotters and precision artillery, Russian tanks are looking more like mobile targets than offensive weapons. This is a major departure. It almost parallels the turkey shoot in Iraq when Iraq had no air cover to support tanks and the skies were ours. Neither side has air superiority in Ukraine, but the Russian tanks are still fat targets because things have changed on the battlefield ... start considering obsolescence if Russia hadn't proven so incompetent.

Likewise Navy ships, especially big ones like aircraft carriers are looking like floating targets. Satellite and other imagery means they can't be hidden like in the past, and long range anti-ship missiles change the game. It's food for thought anyway. Ships aren't very mobile and every anti-missile missile or other defensive weapon means less carrying capacity for offensive weapons. At some point you have to figure that big lumbering targets are or may become a liability. It works both ways; China has a large landmass, but they still have to reach out, and there are a lot of island bases available to China's enemy. Argentina had the home field advantage and still lost to an enemy who had to travel a long way to support the Falklands. War with China if fought well by allies looks more like a stalemate than a gimmie for China. Time will tell, but I'm thinking this wouldn't be our father's and grandfather's sea war. Subs may well be the only survivors of a war at sea.

The question we really don't know is whether operations in Ukraine are a surprise to military strategists, or how much they are learning like the rest of us. The old military was too staid to accept advice from people like Billy Mitchell; the question is whether the new military has the same mindset as the old and the same lack of foresight.

What kind of ships does the Chinese safety authority have? We talking armed boats?
they probably won't be armed, at least with "naval" guns/weapons. But they will go after military vessels, and then when they get kicked off the ship or denied access they will cry foul, maybe they literally get thrown overboard. After that China will have no options but to respond militarily.

LOL: China Sanctions Reagan Library, Library Officials Over McCarthy Meeting With Taiwan President

Earlier this week Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), accompanied by a bipartisan group of legislators, met with Taiwan president Tsai Ing-Wen at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. Of course, China was not pleased with that, and now they’ve announced sanctions against the Library and two of its officials. In addition, China announced sanctions against the Hudson Institute and two of its officials, who also met with the Taiwanese delegation recently.

hey @Rasputin_Vol China just made a direct act of war against us.

Thanks to the foresight of Trump and the Republican administration the USMCA is going to assist in this area. With free market capitalism, labor is cheaper in NA, Cent. America, and SA versus China so companies are in the process of moving closer to the NA market to shorten supply lines and avoiding the security entanglements of Asia.
