I'll be honest with you. If it is what they SAY it is, and I have no reason to doubt them, I don't think they know WHAT to do with it. It's too high to reach with aircraft. Our fighter jets clime to around 50,000 ft. You would still have to clime another 10-15 maybe more before you reach it. It doesn't have any heat or exhaust to tag or lock onto. We can jam it (we are). Other than that, we can break out some new highfalutin secret darpa laser weapon that we are not prepared to show off yet.

Understand, but.... if trump was president, you think the news would react the same way as now? I remember CNN spending two days covering trump getting two scoops of ice cream . Just look at the classified documents stories, big difference in how the media reacts. I just find it funny, cause we all know how people here, and the news would be if this happened under trump.

yep. That would make three balloon over three countries. That's what I hearing too, but it's not official yet. Might not be true.

Weather or “research flights” such as this don’t become lost and coincidentally fly over multiple US military installations in multiple states.

That’s exactly what they’d use it for. That’s my real fear with this is that they’re planning on releasing a biological agent in the US. If they’re testing out the responses right now, I don’t think they’re far off from attacking us for real.

I can think of 4 reasons we haven’t shot it down
1. The Chinese have equipped it with nuclear or biological weapons that will harm those below
2. We want to feed the Chinese a false line of data, we’re spoofing the data the ballon is actually collecting
3. We need to “collect” the balloon and show the world China’s true nature and turn world opinion
4. The current administration and military command are traitors working for China
