The way I read some of the replies to articles on this website, you would think that anything anybody said that was considered ANTI-VOL was murder!

On the bright side you are free to bash on Coach Fulmer all you want.

There's a huge difference between anti-VOL and anti-coach. We might take issue w/ anti-vol on a Vol message board.

Guys, don't want to make this out to be a bigger deal than it is, but Chris Donald had some relatives come into town over the fourth of July and he decided to put his visit to ND off. Though it probably means very little I think it is good to see ND get jerked around a little bit. It is certainly good that he was not there for a holiday.

I wonder if Trooper was one of his visiting relatives?

What has Notre Dame EVER done to Tennessee to warrant this behavior. I don't get the fascination with TN fans hating ND. (I live in Chattanooga) And please don't say because they are Independent, because that shouldn't matter if they were in a conference or not, it won't be in the SEC. And the NBC contract doesn't hold much water when all the major schools are getting Mega-bucks now.

I don't see much negative talk about ND in this whole thread. :stop: Not sure where you're coming from with that accusation.

Other than have an unmatched arrogance even though the program hasn't been nationally relevant for 15+ years? Other than being the program that subjects America to shills like Beano Cook blathering about 3 Heismans for a QB who would have never seen the field at Tennessee? Other than the fact Note Dame has been no better than Oregon for the last 15 years, yet we have them incessantly forced upon us by the networks? Other than those crimes against college football as a whole, I can't think of any reason that people don't like Notre Dame.

Uh, you seem to be the one fascinated with picking a fight. I don't see anything negative about ND in this thread at all. Please forgive any posters that had the audacity to mention ND without bowing ever so slightly. :focus:

I'm not as regular as many around here, but it sure is fun and refreshing to see you tear into someone/something non-Tennessee. :devilsmoke:

And I agree 100% with the post.

I haven't been regular lately, either.

Maybe I should start eating Taco Bell or Wendy's.

I checked the ND board at Scout to see if there was any scuttlebut on CD. All they seem to be talking baout recruitingwise is who they will get out of Arrelious Benn, Lorenzo Edwards, Martez Wilson, Ryan Miller, and Greg Little. I guess it should say something when the top "gettable" guy on our list doesn't seem to merit discussion among the domers.

Forgiven, now back to the program.

Actually, most Domers that I have talked to think that CD is all VOL and most think the same of Harrison Smith.

Buckshot, I started the thread, and haven't asked anyone for forgiveness. You see, in the 70's and 80's, Catholic Highschools across the country recruited some of the best athletes around to their programs. In the hayday of the ND dynasty, they had their picks from those schools unopposed. It is nice to see them get jerked around a little bit. That is all.

anyone think the fact that ND has already rec'd commits from 2 LB prospects will have an impact on CD or HS?
for Donald yes but i think just about everyone is wanting to play Smith at safety or FB

ND is recruiting Smith for Apache(I think it is hybrid LB/S), but has told him that if he is better than the other safeties, he will be a safety. UT is recruiting him for safety.

Is the Apache commonly used in pro defenses?

FB? Really? I havent really heard any big programs wanting him for FB. But, I could have missed it I guess. Dont forget his weight on rivals was inflated. At the combine he barely weighed more than 200. I think he is certainly a SS at the next level.
