@RockyTop411 ^^^^ (not letting me quote him) The first couple of years were a rough start probably because it was his REAL first HC job. I understand it's the Big East and all, but he's got SEC experience, and with the track record, making it to a Sugar Bowl without the staff he could have at UT is impressive from my standpoint. If we could surround him with a quality staff he could make something great.

i'll just agree to disagree, but i don't believe the talent level is close to where it needs to be.

i think strong will faint when he sees the guys on defense run

I may be wrong but didn't Urban Meyer come from Utah,when he was hired to Florida, what conference were they in at that time? I'm sure Louisville is a bigger school and was in a bigger conference. Yes I just compared Strong to Meyer. People did not think that Meyer's offense would work in the SEC but it did and got him a couple NCs.it will be ok.

Come om guys, this isn't the home-run hire that we wanted, but our recruiting just got better. With our facilities and tradition, Strong will be able to get basically any recruit that is thinking about Tennessee. I wanted Raheem Morris, but Strong is a solid choice!

How can you even compare the two teams. The talent level in SEC is much different than BIG EAST. That being said, he will not have the Louisville recruiting budget at K-Town and he will be recruiting to SEC BABY.

At Louisville here's what he did.

2010 - rivals rank = 48
2011 - = 29
2012 - = 42

This fanbase is crazeeeeeeeeee.....Honestly who did you guys think we would get? The reality of the situation is that this is a rebuilding job. I think Coach Strong would be a better hire IMHO than Gundy. If Strong is hired, I think the fanbase needs to get behind him. While at UF his defenses wreaked havoc on the SEC, including Tennessee. Give this guy the benefit of the doubt and leave race out of it. :machgun::spank:

Well Arkansas got a reigning three time big ten champion coach. My gut tells me he'll win more than Strong.

If Muschamp can work with Driskels throwing ability then Strong can work with our secondary. Worry about your own team.

Its not a race thing to me. I don't care if the coach has green skin, so long as he can coach and keep us away from NCAA violations in the future. My problem with Strong is his record of 24 - 14 at Louisville. I do not believe he has the experience to coach a major SEC program, at least not at the level that will please the Vol fan base. If he is hired... I hope I'm wrong and he does a great job. I simply believe Hart can do much better... if he is willing to shell out the greenbacks to do so.

Saban in 5 years at MSU had 6, 6, 7, 6, and 9 wins. He never won the Big 10. In his best season, he was blown out by Purdue and Wisconsin.

Strong has won 7, 7, and now 10 at L'ville. He's won the conference twice (after taking over a program that under Kragthorpe won 6, 5, and 4 while finishing 5th, 7th, and 7th in the Big East.

Les Miles never finished higher than third in the Big 12 South and never won 10 games in Stillwater.
