I think it is more likely that you faint when you see those same guys in a scheme that doesn't make them do a calculus proof before reacting.

I watched my old HS play in a state championship game Saturday. They played a much faster team and lost in a tough game mostly because of 4 bad fumbles in their own end. I mention it because the announcers on TV just couldn't get over how they always filled their lanes on D.

You don't have to be the fastest team in a great scheme where guys know and EXECUTE their job. There are teams much slower than UT that have held great O's... like Stanford vs Oregon. ND vs most of the teams they've played.

Is it "close to where it needs to be"? Closer than you think but there's still a good bit of work to be done. It is closer than it was 3, 4, or even 5 years ago by far.

The next guy needs to finish this class strong and build a team around UT's OL next fall.

Seriously, has Hart even contacted Tressel? This guy is sitting out there waiting for his chance to return a team to greatness... HE is our Gruden now that Gruden said no..

He was the DC for both Spurrier and Meyer. He may not be as 'splashy' as some wanted but the guy is very solid and will have UT back to relevance fairly soon. He is a player's coach and very solid recruiter.

Sans a crystal ball, I really can't see how he is any better or worse than Gundy, Fisher, Patterson...etc. They have all done well at their respective schools but all have an asterisk of some sort (ie..Patterson getting whopped his first year in the Big 12, Gundy's soft season, Strong is only a couple years in as a coach, Fisher has all the talent in the world but lost to NC State.....) Unless your name is Saban or Meyer, no coaching hire is going to basically guarantee a BCS Championship.

i saw players from vandy, akron, and a few other places outrun people that had an angle.

watch the missouri 2nd half td run and watch the players on the field try to chase that guy.

No, the real point is they are playing in BCS bowl with his recruits. NOW WHAT. When did you last witness BCS bowl we played in..... oh wait been a while

So nobody is allowed to disagree w a coaching candidate if he is black?!! Please, he is coaching louisville and his record is not outstanding! But we are suppose to believe he is a good hire? He is NOT a homerun hire! He might turn out to be a good coach, but dont call someone racist because they dont like the hire! If its him. Thats crazy!

isn't he still under the show clause thing ? and at a guess.I'd imagine UT wants the next coach to be squeaky clean

Strong is a solid hire and could be great. Time will tell. However, SEC has hired some very good coaches. The conference is going to have good coaches from top to bottom. There will be some upsets in the coming years.

U R kidding right. Look at his record versus the SEC. Got smashed everytime. Look at his record on the road. 500 at best. Who and here is he going to recruit. Alvarez hanging on ther was a big help for him. Always had a good RB but relied on other schools for a lot of his player transfers. He is far from great. Probably abouth the 4th or 5th best coach in the big ten, eleven or whatever conf that is. Urban has put the fear in him to get out now. First 5 loss team to rose bowl.......

Is that not what I just said. His Louisville team and recruits are playing in the Sugar Bowl, against the team he used to coach. We will see how good his team is up against an SEC team. It don't have anything to do with better recruits, you have to play the game. Apparently you don't read and let it soak in before you open your mouth to speak.

zi think this is as close to homerun as we are going to get. I was leaning towards Gundy but a lot of OSU people were hoping he would leave and come to UT. Louisville's 3 star defense looked pretty good. Id be willing to bet if UT played Louisville right now UT would get embarrassed.
