1000 percent agree !!!This is the best case scenario for Tennessee imo, we get to play a ranked opponent who made it to their conference Championship game, we were looking at playing unranked Clemson or North Carolina, this is a very winnable game with more clout associated with a win, we win and were 9-4 and ranked coming into next year, possibly the only scenario where that happens.
Who said anything about being scared?Vandy got 2 meaningless garbage TDs at the end of a blowout game, one after we fumbled a punt inside our own 10. Context matters.
Iowa won its last 2 regular season games to Illinois and Nebraska, two 5-7 teams in the Big 10 West, by a combined 5 points.
Iowa played 2, yes TWO, ranked teams all season and didn’t score a point against either, losing 31-0 to Penn State and 26-0 to Michigan. They went AN ENTIRE SEASON WITHOUT SCORING A SINGLE POINT AGAINST A RANKED OPPONENT. Has Tennessee ever done that? They also lost to 5-7 Minnesota. They played a mid-major schedule in what amounts to a mid-major division.
In the Penn State game, Iowa ran a mere 33 offensive plays, during which:
17 were runs, totalling 20 yards. Of the 16 passes, only 6 were completed. They fumbled SIX times, losing possession 4 times, and
the Iowa defense was on the field for almost 46 of the game's 60 minutes.
But yeah, we should be scared of Iowa.
My guy.
the Vols are facing a team that can afford their offense the opportunity to go through long stretches without scoring.
We have some ignorant fans. It was 45-10 going into the 4th quarter when backups were playing…my guy

Once recently. Blowout. Last meetings were split in the 1980s iirc. Ferentz can coach and this ain't 2022, so our hands are full.Stop the run and it's over. Traditionally Iowa wants the big 400 lb-ers to just move the blockers so the backs can run. Get a couple of scores on the board and they struggle to catch up. Will be interesting to see if their D can catch our receivers (provided they actually catch the ball); same with our backs, one juke & they're gone.
I guess boring is good if we win. Haven't we beaten Iowa a bazillion times?
Oh LAWD. Nope. No way Milton gets drafted to the NFL. I already argued this with another fool. He's like the 15th or 16th rated QB in college. People get so hung up on he is huge and has a cannon for an arm but he ain't got the brains or the mobility which are the only 2 things that matter to NFL teams.Milton's going to start this game, whether or not you think he should. He's then going to go make enough money in the NFL to build his own chain of carwashes.
Check back in on 1/1/24.
