City of Knoxville: Neyland Stadium beer vendor responsible for unruly fans, should face consequences

I refuse to stand in that line or pay the prices for one beer. I’d rather have whiskey and 9 time out of 10 a generous fan shares. 😂 They are making a killing on alcohol sales and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Rake in the money and upgrade the concessions and bathrooms.

The University is probably the biggest revenue generator in the city...

And our moron city leaders have nothing better to do than to go after beer sales at the football game? Actually they do have better things to do...like going after real crime and homelessness, which are real problems in the city.

It's too bad there's no transfer portal for city leadership, so we could tell 'em to go ahead and get in it.

Bunch of bratty busybodies who are jealous of something that gets more attention and positive attention than they ever will.
They probably hate themselves and are miserable and can't stand to see others having a good time.

Academics and government types hate the sports and sports fan. And let's add media. Local media takes every chance to throw shade. Vols and sports represent everything that that they abhor. Does anyone with a brain think none of the fans have not a few beverages before they enter the stadium. So banish the stadium providers. But don't confuse this with logic.

Some times you just need a beer .. I mean PGA forms flask to get through the games we’ve had the last 15 years( excluding this year)

3 “informants” out of more than 250K beverages served. “Unruly” fan’s behavior?
We should start a petition that alcohol sales on state property are not subject to local taxes or regulations…..heck let’s remove taxes on anything sold on state property

I remember the binocular flasks lol
Ever get together with you and your buddies and end up with literally gallons of booze total in those REI camelbacks?

Hell, for about two years at GT I had the ultimate hookup. Simply dropped a box of booze off with a certain person and told them where my group was sitting. We got to the game, and that box was underneath our seats.

Read between the lines here. New Athletics Director inherits terrible, long-term contract that the AD three ADs ago extended on his way out the door. Little known clause in the contract prevents UT from putting pouring rights out for bid until at least 2027. Meaning the beer sales are far less lucrative at Tennessee than they are at other schools.

If Aramark has its license suspended or revoked, it would allow Tennessee to cancel the overall contract and negotiate with a new provider. Looks to me like someone is playing chess here with the parameters of the bad contract.

Ah, I was wondering if they were trying to force them because they wanted a different vendor. The city seemed very aggressive with this, and now it makes sense.

Send these crybabies to your average soccer, I mean football, game in Brazil or Europe and they will see we are tame in comparison.

yes, under age college fans have plenty of money to spend on their overpriced$14 beers, give me a break. It was just as unruly when we smuggled in hooch in our pants and put it in their overpriced $8 cokes.

Synopsis: Smart people just keep doing what you are doing and there won’t be any more way overpriced beer sales for your amusement.

Damnit Janet .

I grew up in Franklin and every Saturday @ 12a.m. They showed TRHPS @ the old Franklin cinema (pre renovation ).

Franklin was still so podunk back then that our main entertainment was cruising the square (now illegal ) and gawking at the folk dressed up to watch TRHPS every Friday night @midnight .

Bunch of Franklin High , BGA, Page , Fairview dudes riding around in circles all night . The Brentwood and BA kids were mainly too sophisticated for such however they would occasionally venture “downtown “ to see what all the fuss was about .

Any other native Williamson Co folks recall this ???

#GregAmsler ??
Remember it well!! I grew up in Murfreesboro and it was completely dead off campus. Some of us high school kids would venture on over to Franklin for the best cruisin’ around! Those were the days when they let kids be kids and gas was oh soooo cheap lol!

Underage drinking definitely on the vendor. 3 cases out of the .... roughly 2 million or so fans in there over 3 years doesn't seem so awful though.

As for the unruly behavior of fans being the fault of Aramark, fans have been unruly as long as I have been going to games, for sure.

I personally got in a fist fight when I was 22 lol.

If they are selling multiple beers to one person maybe the city has a gripe. I guess there could be a one beer per customer per visit rule.

Seems like the city is overreacting to me.
