I love my Vols but embarrassed tonight. We had at least 30k fans @ the Shoe, the most ever for an away team. Ohio St fans were shocked and ticked off that their stadium was covered in orange, the exception being student section behind one of end zones.

Their fans heckled us most of the night and I’m 53 yrs old. I’ve never seen so many inebriated a$$ holes in my life.

But we played like crap and looked lost. The D didn’t show any heart nor enthusiasm. The fans did their part. I dropped about $1500 on lodging, gas, tickets and food. Frustrating. Go Vols!

I'm going to brag on the fans, we did our part and showed up. There was a lot of orange in that stadium, me included. But the body language of our team on the sidelines bothered me the entire game. And the play-calling left a lot to be desired. Disappointed in the effort frankly.
The fans deserve a better road team. Josh Heupel's road teams are hot garbage..

Tons of disappointment in the locker room from everyone that is invested. I think this is a direct shot at the players. I love it. We saw a lack of effort and want too. Big changes coming, I believe some of these upperclassman may have become stagnant and their lack of effort spread throughout the football team as we saw tonight. No leaders on the field.

Once you make life changing money, you lose that drive.
We don’t have the same talent as OSU so I don’t think it was lack of effort. They were bigger , faster and manhandled us. We have zero WRs , need bigger offensive lineman , better LBs , better secondary.

This is disturbing, that being said... If Ohio played their A game (they did) and we play ours we don't beat a 20 million dollar roster but it's atleast respectable. The thing that hurts is we played our C game and got absolutely waxed. When you're playing a 6th year walk on at tackle and a backup guard in lampley and your best depth behind the SEC offensive player of the year is also a walk-on you have to be darn near be perfect for a shot

Tennessee did not belong in the playoffs and they don't have any championships in their future. They are a middle of the pack program and the SEC bar is raised every year. We are so far behind the top teams, even though we improve, its impossible catch up.

Top teams , you mean Texas and Ga that’s pretty much it. The rest are exactly what we are, CRAPPY

I’m fine with people leaving cfb for this reason

It really seems that way. This defense was a fraud all year and finally played a good pass offense and you see what happened. Offense has been pedestrian for 2 years running now and I don't see how it takes leaps forward from here..

We play the same conference teams next year. If we're 10-2, should we decline a playoff spot if offered?

Hurts, but true. We are tier 2. When the OSU gloaters come on here to say told you so, just say, 'yeah, you were right, great game, see you next year'. The worm will turn.

I seen plenty of effort tonight. I also seen a staff who couldn't put this team in a position to win. Secondary was constantly out of place. WRs sucked minus Bru. D line looked good on their first series and didn't show up after.

Outcoached and outplayed. It's as simple as that.

You have to tread lightly with discipline, the portal is just around the corner.
I think that’s true to a degree. The portal is full of players that nobody wants. I think it’s going to get to the point where the only players that hit the portal are the ones that are either forced to, or that already have a spot lined up at another school.

Elite athletes are generally well disciplined, and a lack of team discipline could drive them to other programs.

I’m looking at it completely the other way. There’s been an infinite number of undisciplined players that had talent wasted on them but that isn’t exclusive to the transfer portal era.
