Didn’t get to see the game. Traveling to NY. Hope to watch a replay of it someday soon. But seeing the score and reading this has me very dejected as a Vol Fan for life. If Heup can’t get this fixed who can? Tired of saying well we’ll see you next year ever since 1998. Freezing in NY last night has me believing the 30,000 fans who made the trip to Ohio State and froze in the stands are the true Vols. We need our coaches and players to figure it out and FIX the problems. Go Vols!

Do yourself a favor and don’t watch a replay lol.

This is disturbing, that being said... If Ohio played their A game (they did) and we play ours we don't beat a 20 million dollar roster but it's atleast respectable. The thing that hurts is we played our C game and got absolutely waxed. When you're playing a 6th year walk on at tackle and a backup guard in lampley and your best depth behind the SEC offensive player of the year is also a walk-on you have to be darn near be perfect for a shot
Let's finally be real here. OSU had a lot to do with how we played last night. They were faster, more talented, better coached and way more motivated than we were.

I’m embarrassed. Worst game I’ve ever seen
It is definitely at least equal to the 97' Cirus Bowl vs Nebraska where we were manhandled by the corn-fed crew from the start.

Last night's embarrassment showed the Buckeyes to be bigger, stronger, faster, and the most damning thing, very much more MOTIVATED to whip the orange out of us.

Tennessee did not belong in the playoffs and they don't have any championships in their future. They are a middle of the pack program and the SEC bar is raised every year. We are so far behind the top teams, even though we improve, its impossible catch up.

Boosters will need to kick in millions more so Josh can buy elite talent to compete with top 5 teams.
We are already #2 in NIL collectives behind Ohio St, we just gotta do better on buying the right players and not sinking a ton in
a few players.

Recommendation - do not watch the replay. Have a few drinks and forget about it.

Tons of disappointment in the locker room from everyone that is invested. I think this is a direct shot at the players. I love it. We saw a lack of effort and want too. Big changes coming, I believe some of these upperclassman may have become stagnant and their lack of effort spread throughout the football team as we saw tonight. No leaders on the field.

Once you make life changing money, you lose that drive.
Ohio St has the highest paid roster in the country, didn't look like money caused them to lose their drive.

Let's be honest. Sometimes in life you just get whipped. You can't explain it. It seems bad, but the other person just did better than you. Alabama was the only big win we had this year. We had a good season and ended better than I predicted. I'm not going to bash a team that I believe overperformed. Good job getting into the playoffs. Grow from yhat.

Top teams , you mean Texas and Ga that’s pretty much it. The rest are exactly what we are, CRAPPY
Ohio St, on paper is the most talented team in College Football. And it's really not even close. They just have a dumba$$ HC. That 20+ million is very telling when they hit the field. They are with Michigan how we are with Fla. For some reason, no matter the talent gap, we both struggle in those games.

Heupel better get to firing /hiring.

Which he won't.

So we are what we are. Sux
Agree. For some reason, he won't upgrade his Coaching staff. He has the resources available, but refuses to do it. We badly need an upgrade at OL, Secondary and WR Coaching and recruiting. Possibly even at RB Recruiting and DC

I may get crucified for this, but I’m going to say it anyways. Several things I’ve noticed all year, not just tonight.
1- the play calling has been super conservative all year. I get Nico is young, and coaches don’t want to get him hurt. Understandable, but you have to attack when you have the ball. 3-4 yard passes aren’t going to cut it. The defenders usually 3-4 were there about as quick as the ball, so the Recievers had no chance of yards after the catch. Recievers dropped way TOO MANY BALLS this season as well.
2- Nico looks eriely similar to Joe Milton in the pocket. His feet are set in stone as soon as he gets the ball, and “usually” they never step into his throws. Effecting accuracy. Probably shouldn’t be surprised, Milton was his mentor, as bad as he was.
3- Sampson is a BEAST, and has carried the offense ALL SEASON. NICE JOB 6.
4- Defense took the night off tonight, looked similar to the Arkansas game. PATHETIC. Secondary is absoulute GARBAGE.
5- O-line can block really good for the run, unfortunately they can’t block for **** on pass plays. Nico needs more than 2 seconds to make reads and throw the damn ball. SEVERAL PASSES came out of Nico’s hands late tonight and have all season also. If the recievers are standing still with thier hands up waiting on the ball to get there, then the ball is delivered LATE. Several times tonight a guy was running open, and Nico couldn’t get him the ball because the pass blocking broke down, or he just didn’t see them maybe. Some of this is inexperience, and maybe he will get better with more experience.
6- Major changes are needed, to play at a consistent high level. PERIOD.

On another note. I’m not a bama fan, but I always admired the DOMINANCE they brought week in and week out under Saban. People knew what to expect. I believe a lot of people hate the SEC anyways, because of the power of the conference, but honestly, after Tennessee getting spanked like they did, why would anybody fear or respect the SEC now? Seems some teams are worthy and some are NOT. I would like to see Tennessee achieve and maintain a similar level of dominance and consistency. I know that’s asking a lot, but it’s been proven, IT CAN BE DONE.
I agree about saban, but our era of "dominance" came in the 90s. Suspect that's as close as we'll see at UT. I'll be happy with the occasional 2022 type season.

Look at the mass exodus of young players…some of our most heralded recruits. They voted with their feet. And I ain’t buying that they were about the recruited over or they were encouraged to leave nonsense. My guess is that they simply chose to divest.
