*****CLASS of 2018 SIGNEES AND COMMITS (Early Signing Period, DEC)

Fans are very negative. They are very negative everywhere. You expect Pruitt to be a miracle worker after the train wreck Jones, the Administration and the fans created. You act like he's supposed to work miracles then you question every move. February will look better. Also, some of these so-called 4 and 5 "stars" across everyones board not pan out. Key is can he and his staff take what he has on hand and develop them better than other schools develop theirs. Honestly, reading between the lines the Mayes kid comes off as an entitled head case based on what some of his peers are posting. The fact that Pruitt got in late on so many kids and either got them to sign or got them to put off signing until Feb. speaks volumes for the future

IMO, this isn't Pruitt's first class. This is him trying to salvage Jones's last class.

I think 2019 class should be the real indicator of his talents as a recruiter. What is more important is him working up the players he already has and the ones he can get this year. WE should worry more about the ranking of the class NEXT year. He can only do so much in a couple of weeks after the biggest ****show of a coach search in history.

Complete betrayal by Mays.

Knew we weren't going to get him at this point but how in the world do you grow up a huge fan of TN where Dad played and fans love you and you turn your back on them because they had a bad season.
New staff hired and telling you how much they need you.

Not only do you turn your back on them, you go to a hated rival.

Punk move IMO

& I agree with you. You can make up any reason or excuse but none of it adds up. Clearly, in retrospect Cade was never committed to the University of TN. When the going got tough he got going. What we've seen the last few months is Cade is about Cade. This is bitter because he was supposedly committed to TN for so long & most everyone who follows TN thought his blood runneth orange, well it doesn't. He's gone.

I don't wish he get hurt or anything like that. It's football, it was a punk move by Cade & we'll meet on the field next year. Certainly hope he goes winless against UT in his GA career.

GO VOLS!!!

you worry about the ones you get. You don't worry about the ones you don't. CJP

Physically seems like Carvin, Lawless and Emerson are all ready to play SEC football. Great to see especially since they are linemen.

Found the link, just one report: Nebraska recruiting: Scott Frost has no problem adding JUCO prospects if they're 'right fit'

The strategy proved successful on the first day of the early signing period. Three junior college prospects — 3-star running Greg Bell, 3-star wide receiver Jaron Woodyard and 3-star defensive back Deontai Williams — signed letters of intent with Nebraska on Wednesday.

How can so many, supposedly football savvy fans, act like this recruiting is going very good, much less going great. The terms filling needs, not on CBJ's radar, Feb will be the real story, wait till 2019, etc tells me you all don't take much to impress. I'm not downing Pruitt here but Jones had a top 7 class lined up. It would still have been very strong even with the 4-8 record. Jones first recruiting class was ranked 21st in his short time. Made folks say things like TENN recruits itself. I wanted Jones gone, but I am not gonna jump all in on Pruitt yet, just like I wouldn't have for Schiano. Just please make realistic comments about the signing class. Don't try to convince yourself and others that things are great and going just like you hoped. Most of the current commitments were already committed.

I think that those of us who think today is positive have a means to consider the context. Pruitt has been on the job 12 days. Some of the guys who signed today were not even our radar 12 days ago. The early signing period made it unbelievably challenging because of the short window. I think that our class will be solid when it's all said and done in February, possibly Top 15. Considering where we started, I think that will be great. You can see that many of the players committed to the previous staff were asked to look elsewhere because they did not fit the new system. That is a favor to them and to us. I am not sure what other miracles people expected today, but we got to boom for some good players, and we will see how it goes in February. I think some of you will be surprised.

Yet on day 1 of early signing period many on here have already passed judgement
