Clean, Ole Fashioned Hate: Georgia Tech (7-4) vs #7 Georgia (9-2) (7:30PM ET, ABC)

I checked Bama, A&M and Ole Miss dropped 5 and 6 positions. If they treat Georgia the same - UGA drops to 12 or 13.

But I am not getting my hopes up - Georgia has a history of coming back.

And then Georgia would be playing a top 3 Texas next week. If they win, they would shoot right back up in the rankings.... The chaos that happens with the likes of Bama, Ole Miss, USC/Clemson winner is if they lose tonight and lose in Atlanta.

Don't think so - think they will drop considerably and be looking at a #4 seed or possibly 12 (aka last in because they are a conference champ).

They dropped A&M and Bama and Ole Miss BIG TIME. Georgia if they lose should be treated the same.
Not if they win the SECCG next week. The Big 12 and Group of 5 champions wouldn’t pass them in that situation.

You are assuming Texas beats A&M. If Georgia loses, they need for that to happen, because a win over A&M would not be as impressive.
Sure. But even if it is A&M, a 3 loss SEC Champ would not be ranked below the Big 12 Champ with 2 losses. Just won't happen. What will be hilarious is if Boise State moves up to the 3 seed line because of this.

Boise State is 11. They won impressively. Georgia would definitely fall below them. The Big 12 is a mess though - that would be a stretch.

Tonight changes nothing with the rankings or the SEC.... Georgia losing to Tech tonight ONLY matters if Georgia doesn't win the SEC Title game next week.

So you think if Georgia loses and Tennessee wins, that they drop Tennessee to ensure Georgia stays in front of them???? Because if Georgia loses this they are dropping.

Again I asked how SEC teams would be ranked in the CFP rankings. This game along with the other ones I listed does affect CFP rankings.

Sure and when that happens and then Georgia wins the SEC Title, they will be seeded higher than Tennessee and we are back into the debate for the final host seed.

Tonight only matters to the seeding if Georgia loses next week in Atlanta because Georgia is officially eliminated from the playoff.

The one thing tonight does do is open the door to cause chaos next week.

Like Texas losing to a 9-3 Georgia could drop Texas enough to where we could still sneak up for that final host seed.
