Climate Change Report

Clearly, this particular Administration is not capable of running a neighborhood lemonade stand, never mind addressing an issue like climate change. If you haven't noticed, the anti-science President has done everything in his power to accelerate climate change - hey, let's burn more coal, that sounds like a good plan! By the way, the science is settled, thinking otherwise is simply asinine.

So....... What does your carbon footprint look like?

Science is settled among those scientists polled. But I am sure you knew that. Just as you know for a fact that every single scientist that deals with weather has been polled around the world and agrees. Yeah clearly thats a fact.

The truth that you and many others just cannot face is we cannot fix the climate. Can we worsen it? Probably. But yet another simple and undeniable fact is our whole entire society and way of life is built and dependent on fossil fuels. That will not change in any of our lofe times. Trump wanted to give jobs back to coal miners. Man what a terrible idea. Also, all of the scinetific consensus people use massive amounts of fossil fuels every single day. So just stop with the blaming Trump and Rs for something that is much more natural than most want to admit.

World population is growing dramatically by the day. Man is the constant multiplier. If you believe in man made pollution, then you have to believe that population is at the heart of the problem because man is the constant multiplier. That point will never be the real issue that's discussed because it's game over if it is recognized as the (or even a) major contributing factor. No one will address population control; therefore, no one can effectively address control climate problems ... if man is the problem.

I think pollution is a much bigger threat to our planet than the climate. But hey that teenager said the world is ending so there is no need to study anymore.

I agree with you on pollution. We (meaning humans) don't respect our home much. We in the US and apparently the Europeans have done much more than the Chinese and Indians to control pollution, and the sad fact is that China and India are the largest population centers and and responsible for the greatest population growth - and that's a big problem. If you see carbon emissions as pollution and a contributor to warming, then pollution and climate charge are inseparable issues, and every human on the planet is both a carbon and heat emitter.

The solution is to kill everyone in India and China.

I agree with your argument about the population but I disagree with you that climate change can't be "effectively addressed" although I suppose it depends on what you mean by "effectively". While many countries actually have Zero Population Growth, the world population is growing by approximately 82 million people a year - yikes!

Countries with exponential population growth have people most at risk of death due to climate change. Perhaps Earth is maintaining its homeostasis?

Let me get this straight. You're all bent out of shape because two teenagers are concerned about the government's lack of action regarding addressing climate change, yet we have a President who, contrary to the scientific consensus, thinks climate change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese? That's your story? Those two teenagers could talk circles around Trump when it comes to climate change, that's a fact!

I'm not "bent out of shape" at all. I'm disgusted.

Not sure where I stand on climate change. Much like a lot of other polarizing subjects (like, say...President Trump), there are those who claim it's the result of carbon emissions, etc., and those who claim it's simply the natural cycle of Mother Earth. You know, ice ages and all that. I haven't studied it enough to have an opinion one way or the other, and I'm wise enough to know that you cannot trust one word out of ten that the media feeds you.

But back to me being disgusted. The simple fact that members of Congress would grant an audience to...and apparently value the opinions of...two teenagers who strike me as being "programmed" far more than "educated" or "experienced" is simply the latest sign of how far off the rails the Legislative Branch of our government has gone. There are thousands if not dozens of thousands of scientists out there who have accumulated decades of study, research, data analysis, and forecasting on the hot topic of "climate change". But nope, let's bring in a couple of teenaged girls to give us the information we need.

This, good citizen, is straight out of the "Book of AOC". Weapons Grade Stupid. Not the girls, but Congress. The geniuses we elected to represent our interests in this nation, and worldwide. I probably should be bent out of shape, but I'm not. As has been proven time and time again in the hallowed halls of our nation's capitol...Congress is completely dysfunctional. Those two girls wasted their time talking to the HFAC. Probably every word they said was forgotten by the people they said it to no later than cocktail hour at the Crown & Crow. It was a sideshow; that and nothing more. Think not? Wake me up when they pass a bill related to anything that was said yesterday.

I wonder, did Ms. Thunberg sail over here on the KonTiki II...or was it in Business Class on an Airbus 380? Turn on the lights in her hotel room, or fire up the old solar-powered fireplace? Take an Uber to Capitol Hill, or ride a bike? I don't need to be lectured by a teenaged girl on a subject she likely knows very little about if you sat her down in a room with someone who does know what they're talking about. Like most of the seemingly incessant parade of useful idiots we've been exposed to over the past few years, once you pry them off of their talking points and get down in the weeds, they suddenly don't sound nearly as smart as they did when they could stay on script. You watch all of that you want to. I'd rather watch commercials for FlexSeal. They both have about the same amount of academic value.

Nope, come to think of it, I am bent out of shape. The parents of those two children ought to be tarred and feathered for allowing their kids to be in the center ring at such an obvious political circus.

Some folks let their admiration for President Trump cloud their judgement when he does something wrong. Others let their hate for him obscure their vision when he gets it right. Just like it was with Obama. I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat, nor Libertarian, nor whatever. I am an American. First, foremost, and forever. Over the years, I have voted for both sides of the aisle. But if the Democratic Party continues to allow their platform to be hijacked and manipulated by obvious Socialists, they've seen the last of me and my vote. It is what it is.

Nor do I need the comedic opera of watching the HFAC pretend to really be interested in what two teenaged girls think about climate change. I'm gonna go look around the house for anything I can spray FlexSeal on...

Perhaps, but that seems like more of a philosophical question and I am not prepared to deem certain segments of the population expendable.

Well, that was thorough! While I agree with some of what you said and disagree with some other things, I have to acknowledge your passion which is commendable, so thanks for that.
