Johnny Manziel has had one season at Texas A&m. Is he the greatest QB of all time?

No, but there's a very strong argument that he had the greatest freshman season of any QB.

I swear, it's like some people here can't read.

My point was, every game is televised. Had White played in the internet era, his legend would have included his college years (for the rest of planet Earth) not just NFL.

And, all the players who finished ahead of him would also be on TV.

Even his profile on the UTAD's website indicates that Reggie's career prior to his senior season was characterized by untapped potential, highlighted by flashes of brilliance:

"In his four years with the Vols, Reggie White collected a school-record 32 sacks in establishing himself as the most prolific pass rusher in Tennessee history.

The 1983 team captain drew little publicity until the sixth game of his senior year. By then, his domination was evident. He collected 100 tackles on the season, 72 of them unassisted, and set the school-record with 15 sacks for the year. He had a sack in every game but two and dropped the quarterback four times against The Citadel, another school record" (UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Football).

No chance...Clowney is good, but he is going to have to do a whole lot more in the NFL. Mentioning him with Reggie White or Doug Atkins is kind of an insult to the Greats...

Clowney has a long way to go to equal Hall Of Fame Regie White, don't you think?

Reggie White. He had the ability to lead his team and get them to match his effort. Jadevon is still young and may develop that later but right now it makes for a tremendous difference between the two.

not to mention the NFL strike shortened 87 season when he was closing in on the sack record... what was it,21 sacks in 12 games?

So far, Clowney has 21 sacks, 35.5 TFLs, 2 All-SEC appearances, 1 SEC Freshman of the Year, 1 SEC DPOY, a unanimous All-American selection and a 6th-place finish in the Heisman voting.

At this point in White's career, he had 10 sacks, 7 TFLs, and zero of everything else.*

Like I said, it's not even close. Unless you're comparing a 20-year-old Clowney to a 30-year-old White, which is completely absurd.

*He did, however, win the Most Improved Volunteer on Defense award. So there's that.

Clowney reminds me of the UF player that played for Spurrier and then for the Titans and Eagles. forget his name.

He is more like that than White.

Reggie was bigger than the clown and just as fast, no comparison. The 16 votes for the clown must be trolls.

Reggie's NFL career really does end all debate. I love Clowney and think he is an absolute phenom but Reggie's combination of size, power and quickness is very unique. There was no way to defend him. He could get to the QB with the bull rush, speed rush and also the signature "hump" move where he would lift and toss 330 lb men out of his way with one arm.

Exactly. Clowney's great, but it seemed to me like Tiny controlled him with only a little edge help; I saw Reggie consistently beat double and triple teams.
