CMU Transfer RB Kobe Lewis (Purdue Commit)

You used fake science to cast doubt on his chance of future science…and I disagreed with tactic. Now you’re misdirecting my argument with a strawman that I base it on a PERSONAL DISLIKE on your part. That’s false. Quote where that’s been ANY point that I’ve made. I’ve used easily obtainable numbers and applied them to the respective time frames. What we’ve SEEN from Small is that he’s better than any of us expected and nothing to indicate he’s reached any ceiling on potential. Several of the most EXPLOSIVE rushing plays last came from the guy wearing his uniform number.
Ok!

But he DIDN’T REDSHIRT and has to be judged accordingly. And in his SECOND season he didn’t “flash early” until Jamal Lewis blew his knee out. That’s the “sample size” YOU put out. Small, on the other hand, despite missing the first two games due to injury and battling injuries the entire season, churned out 796 yards for the season and 9 touchdowns…the most since John Kelly when Kelly was the only offensive threat we possessed! How’s that for SAMPLE SIZE. Extra bonus, he tied Henry’s 180 yard bowl effort (in his FINAL season of eligibility). If anything Small was more impressive in comparative SAMPLE SIZE.
Btw, small didn’t miss the first two games. That was Evans.

Yes, hoping the Williams kid is the real deal.
It really is relative to what offensive system a team runs.

For what we do.
Wright and Sampson are perfect for it.
Small and Williams are good fits too, but the other two just need one 2nd level block and their gone, because we have defenses spread so thin.

Wright had a decent freshman season after NOT playing as a SR in North Carolina. Think about that...
Sampson broke Eddie Lacy school record and Williams is a complete back.

They just need carries.
We need 4 good backs and some talented PWOs for emergency. I think we have that

Another thing about Small, after the season in an interview he said he was always afraid of the next hit being his last. That’s how bad his shoulder injury was. The run game this season is going to be very very good

I don’t recall that. If so, that could be a great sign, assuming that shoulder is 100%.

Called it!

After this dude, who in the hell is still out there?

At this point I doubt anyone actually transfers here this year. This is like the fifth guy we've tried to get here.

i thought the same thing but AP saying he still expects them to add this late is pretty telling. Just no clue who is still out there.

i wonder who it will be

I don't understand why some Vol fans are not satisfied with Small as the starting RB. I think he was pretty good last year and will have a great career here
I think it’s because we all saw what the next level looks like for the offense with Evans at running back, so while Small was very good at times we know what great looks like and want it.

Who's not satisfied with Small as the starter? I think this staff is just looking to add depth because of how injured the unit was last season.

this is how I see it bc I like Small. It’s more about having as many solid players as possible in a position that gets beat up. That’s how I view it and obviously the staff agrees bc they have been trying to add another for months.
