I'd like to know how many of you guys who belittle DD have ever really had a job or felt the pressure that he faces. I'm not saying we should stay; I'm just saying you ingrates have absolutely no appreciation for the good things he did for UT and for the program. To make fun of him shows how little some of you idiots really are.

Sitting on the ball with .40+ seconds really just killed it for me.

Ditto...i turned o my wife when he let the clock run out and said I am done with Dooley. I had been firmly under the belief that 7&5 got him another year but after that I was done supporting him.

Is calling non Dooley fans idiots really the way to go? You aren't any better for belittling everyone else, imo

I am sick and tired of hearing no one wanted the UT job after Kiffin left? Maybe none of the "big names" we talked to were interested, but you cannot convince me a dozen coaches WITH WINNING RECORDS at their schools would not have jumped at the opportunity to coach in the SEC, and they would today as well.

Dooley was a good ole boys cop-out hire, period! I tried to stick with him for a while myself for the good of the program, but that does not dismiss the fact that hiring a coahc WITH A LOSING RECORD WAS A LOSING PROPOSITION!

There are a dozens of young, bright coaches right now who actually know how to win who would jump at the opportunity to try it in the SEC with potentially the best facilities in the country. I just can't see how we can do any worse than we're doing right now, unless we hire some other coach who has no history of winning games.

I think you are going a little far in calling us ingrates and idiots. The man needs to go-period. Getting upset and calling people names over anything posted by an anonymous stranger on a message board is a waste of time, not to mention against board rules.

Tennessee and its fans owe Dooley nothing other than what's in the terms of the contract.

Nothing. Contrary to popular belief, he has done next to nothing while on the job.

Heck, if indeed he is fired at the end of the season, he won't even leave any good memories behind. Not one fond memory.

Zook and Shula at least left their schools with a few games to remember them by.

You will find out just how much he stabilized things next year when tennessee still struggles

I am sure that not many will agree with me, but I take no pleasure in watching a man fail in such a high profile job, while trying to follow in his father's footsteps. I feel pretty sure that a lot of us feel like we are not the man that our fathers were, and I'm sure that most of us don't have to suffer the consequences. It reminds me of the sons of Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, trying to make it on the PGA Tour, except they didn't have to deal with the abuse of fans. Thanks to Coach Dooley for the effort in an impossible situation.

I can't feel that bad. It's not like he will be leaving a pauper...

Yes, thank you Dooley for setting record lows during your tenure at UT. You may go down as the worst UT head coach in history and that will make your replacement shine that much brighter. Cya, man up and don't take the $5mil - you haven't earned it.

Let us not forget that we are givng him over $11 million dollars for his three years of "work". It seems that he should be thanking us more profusely than we are thanking him.

You know some of you guys really can piss me off sometimes.

Dooley took this job and embraced this school when no one else wanted the wreck Kiffin had left. He put integrity back into this team and, as stated earlier, hung tough with a parade of top ten teams.

He had some bad luck along the way and made some bad luck of his own, but through it all, he bled orange through and through.

I agree, he has to be fired, however. The results just arent there. That being said, the man deserves to get the credit for the good things he did and in the good manner in which he piloted this program through the toughest time its ever seen.

So for those of you who like to belittle people from your mom's basement, think about it before you open your mouth. You might just be proving how stupid you really are.

Posts like this do the same to me. They are totally devoid of truth - just your perception of things.

Does it even register with you that Kevin Sumlin among several others such as Coach Cut interviewed and wanted the job? The UT job is a highly desired position even in the worst of times. Hamilton just botched the hire and sold the boosters on the Vince Dooley's son connection.

What does "bleed orange" mean to you? The guy never thought twice about UT until he got the job offer to make a couple million dollars a year. Now that he is busted for incompetence he can take his $5 million and choke on it because he will not be coming back for any games and events. Bleeding orange means a supporter for life. He was a hired gun with no substance or claim to being a VFL before or after his hiring.

As to bad luck - bad luck is an unfortunate turn of events. JJ, Duh-rick, Tyler, the awful assistant coaching turnover, throwing players under the bus in the media, team disunity, throwing the UK game, losing alum/letterman support, etc. are not bad luck events. They are the result of bad decisions made daily. The kind that destroys any athletic program.

I agree on your point about cowards belittling people. You just did that very thing by insulting the intelligence of some very good posters on this board. I urge you to rethink your anger towards them.

His pay probably is in line with the position. I feel sure that he would trade some of his pay for success. He has always had money. He grew up with money. His wife is a doctor. He has been either a lawyer, coach, or athletic director. I doubt if the money was that important, but any of us would take it if offered.

Ha ha tougher schedule? This was the easiest schedule he faced in his 3 years here!

You Dooley lovers crack me up. He is a damned Con Man period. He's little more than a used car salesman.

Hardly a "Dooley lover", I completely agree he needs to go now. To say this is the easiest schedule in his 3 years here is idiotic, as he played two currently top five teams on top of Florida, sc, and miss state. Not really sure where the used car salesman thing comes in, perhaps a childhood trauma for you? The guy was pretty much a straight shooter, wouldn't even sugar coat it for his players. Take a step back and also maybe delete your account.

Dools has done nothing for us. Thanks for the 0-6 SEC record this year when we have one of the best offenses in ut history. I'm sure he'll list his accomplishments as beating NC State, Cincy, and let's not forget last years win over Vandy. He'll be lucky to get another coaching job anywhere in division 1.

His first 2 years we played LSU plus all the East teams. Last years schedule was a helluva lot tougher because we even had bammer on the road. So yes this year is the easiest schedule.

He is a con man because all he does is talk and not deliver. Also he treats our former players with no respect and throws his current players and asst coaches under the bus at every opportunity.

I posted this in another thread, but it is important to me how this situation is handled ... Dooley has done a lot of admirable things for my school & he has bled orange while doing it. Orange pants for God's sake! He's also had some of the worst luck I've ever witnessed on the football field. He deserves some respect through this process IMO

The only thing he deserves is the severance package that he is going to get.
