That's what is different about this effort by the team.I don’t disagree with any of that. I’d be surprised if there were many rules with getting kicked off the team a known and mandatory consequence. In general, rules exist for a reason and need to be enforced. Punishments though can and should often have some flexibility in how they are given.
All I was trying to say in the above is rules may matter, but the coaching staff failed to fix things and get everyone ready to play right by game day. Both of those things can be true. Yeah whatever the root causes, some players hold some accountability, but so does the staff for letting things get into that state.
I also agree that we won’t know what happened, and actually think we probably shouldn’t. How does that help them fix anything? I wouldn’t even be surprised if the real reasons are not close to what are being speculated. Plenty of rumors from people with supposed sources have turned out to be false.
Regardless, whatever the reasons, the game is in the past. Most important thing at this point is that they get past it and get to doing what they need to do to be their best moving forward.
So one hothead defensive player dictates the Vols' future? Lol.

On the sidelines from the start, Hooker looked subdued and concerned and wasn't his encouraging self up and down the sidelines. The D was chippy and out of position the whole game. TN wasn't ready.
I'm not naive enough to think there's not been some tension or words in the locker room before. Even with our success, teammates challenge each other and pick and poke and all that and now and then someone is caught on a bad day or after a bad performance or a hard correction by a coach and things get, maybe not physical in a big way, but words fly, grills meet, chests bump, etc.
I can't imagine this team has been all unicorns farting rainbows all year but they've been together as a unit until Saturday. Whatever has gone down in previous weeks didn't seem to stop the leadership and unity until Saturday.
It's on Heupel to handle it from here but it'll be interesting at Vandy to see the sideline interaction of the team. I'm unsure Hooker will travel with his knee and whenever surgery is scheduled but it will be interesting to see the TN sidelines in Nashville.

The most important thing to know, has it been fixed. I really don't care what it was as long as it does not show up Saturday.
Agreed. HH was our team's glue. JB appears to be the solvent. If all the drama surrounding this internal team conflict is true, I'd be surprised if Heup allows JB to play this Saturday if he's not already dismissed from the team. Hope HH shows up in Nashville given the limits of his injury and surgery. What a final SEC game tribute. The most important thing to know, has it been fixed. Pretty simple the majority of the year we have stopped the run and got after the quarterback masking the secondaries troubles. Against Georgia and South Carolina we didn’t do as well there. We have been in top 10 in rushing and red zone defense all year. We have to stop run and get to the quarterback to have success on defense. Our secondary has troubles covering for long periods. GBO
How can you say, not knowing what really happened? I trust Hype to make the right call on this. There had to be a very good reason for Banks not to have made the trip.
Imagine pissing away the opportunity to play for a national title in protest to someone getting punished.
I don’t believe it’s that simple. I think one we suck and two we were distracted by whatever went down with Banks.
Very confident these things happened early last week to cause JB SC game suspension:
1. JB chose to hit HH hard in a non-contact practice.
2. JB chose to defiantly step on the Power T in the locker room.
3. JB refused to do do the disciplinary push-ups as team punishment.
All this over NIL money jealousy.
There may be other unreported reasons.
And him giving a “better answer” will help? Or home explaining himself to you and prepping you for the next game is what he’s paid for? We’re fans. We’re not entitled to that. We got beat and we’re paying him to take care of it.Because we’d like to know whether we should expect another embarrassment this week
