Both true statements. You can extrapolate out from his coaching record, that the job he would have done at TN would have been equal (at a minimum) to what he did at Tech. He probably would have done it much sooner than at Tech given the increased resources, brand, etc of the Lady Vols.

Booyah !! I agree , he actually brought that program from the bottom of the bottoms of the fiery pits of hell of the bigeast/ACC . We were always on top and yet we find ourselves lower and lower each year lol .

Bingo! AND he showed what he can do when has players with WNBA potential. He made the most of having Kitley and Amoore (ACC Championship and Final Four).

Kellie’s coached four first round draft picks, but couldn’t coach those players to successful seasons, conference championships and deep postseason runs.

not a fair comparison and you know it. Look at the record of Tech in the 12 seasons prior to him taking over. He turned that program into a team that went to a final 4 a year ago. If he did that at Tech, imagine what he could have done at TN.

Unless Kentucky opens up the NIL vault for hm, he'll be a very MEH coach. One Final Four in 21 seasons and not making the tournament more often than not IS NOT a great hire.

There is less than <1% of women's basketball fans who would hold that opinion, lol (and most of them are salty Tech fans). He would be considered a great hire for any team in the country, and the fact that KY pulled this off, coming off a 20 loss season is mind blowing.

Every Vol fan likes Kellie. But she is going to have to step it up in recruiting and transfer portal. Their defense is not top notch in the SEC. I seen a lot of them just throw their hands up and the one they are defending is 5 feet from them. I do not know if some of them are just slow or what is going on. You do not see Dawn Staley's team being lazy. They will be sitting on the bench

Recruiting will continue to suffer until there's a plan for NIL money that competes with our peers. I want to believe that somehow or another, that problem will get solved. I'm tired about getting beat by players that wanted to come to Tennessee that we got outbid for.

As NIck Saban just said, recruits don't care about the program or coaches anymore, they just want to know how much money they're going to get.

Depends on how bored we are, and who hires who. I do think the KY hire is commendable and there are some interesting comparisons that can be made. But, i'm off to class. I'll be patiently waiting for the ESPN alert on my phone

You guys would have fired him after taking FIVE seasons to get to the NCAA tournament at Virginia Tech, which coincidentally, happened at the same time that he signed Elizabeth Kitley. It will be interesting to see how good a coach he is without her. Other than making the Final four last year, his teams at Virginia Tech and James Madison never advanced past the second round, including this season.

Kellie has 4 20-win seasons in five years at Tennessee and made the Sweet Sixteen twice at Tennessee and once at Missouri State and made the NCAA tournament all 4 seasons at Tennessee.

Well he did do 2 things that you have to do in order to win and that’s recruit and develop! Thats what allowed him to ascend! I’m glad to see Kellie made the Sweet Sixteen with the talent she had, I’d hope she would.

I'm not one of those people, btw. I simply put her in the could win at the same level of Kellie (but would get fired) because it would be hypocritical to say Kellie should be fired after 5 years of mediocre results, and not also say Kara should be fired after five years of mediocre results. Kara's unknown (limited time as coach) doesn't provide the sample size of data that we have with Kellie. Kara could go on to be a high level, championship winning coach. I don't think Kellie will ever rise to that level.
