I'm an incredible optimist!! So you know things are getting bad when I'm wanting to fire a head coach.... And yes I think it's time my Ducks start shopping for a new head coach. I think it would be interesting to bring Chip Kelly back and I wouldn't mind a Les Miles as a hire.

There was some speculation that Kiffin would be interested in that job, if for nothing else to stick it to USC. Would Nike Nation welcome him?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

Give him a head coaching job and watch the NCAA slap sanctions on his employer.

Hope youall find a good one. I remember when you came to Ktown and the fans of both teams really liked each other (of course we all got up close and personal taking shelter during the thunderstorm:)). Also you all treated us well out there...other than the score:no:.

As to Les Miles...just can't visualize him in Oregon - been out there a few times and have met him. But if he decided to do it, I think you all might do well.

Good luck if you have to start looking.

Les miles is one of the worst coaches imo . He needs insane amount of talent to win . He lived off of the chef and lousiana talent . Two things he won't have at Oregon . Oregon needs to go after a amazing recruiter because there the Tennessee of the west coast . A big time program with tones of money in a state with little talent around a few great recruiting states

Kiffin > Tedford for them imo

Agreed, but I don't think Kiffin will take it. Fresno St. is one of the best mid major jobs though.

I would look at Mike McIntyre and Craig Bohl. Both turned around very bad programs.

Good points on the similarities.

I don't see Fedora taking the Baylor job. seems like a sideways move into a worse situation.

Got a buddy who is a Gator fan. He says a bunch of people on the Gator boards are saying Texas' 2nd choice after Hermann is McElwain. Don't know if it's true but it's definitely interesting.

Hearing the same thing on twitter. Interesting, but it seems like Herman to Texas is a done deal.

I doubt he's coming back unless the "rumors" are true that he's ready to move back to Texas. He served for six years on Grant Teaff and Chuck Reedy's Baylor staffs. Teaff is a pretty good motivational speaker...talked Jim Grobe out of retirement to run the show for a few months (wouldn't be surprised to see Grobe stay in Waco and take on a greater role with the AFCA than what he had in the past).

Fedora played wide receiver at Austin College before starting his coaching career as a graduate assistant there in 1986. He spent four seasons as head coach of freshman at Garland High School, a powerhouse in Texas high school football, but then returned to the collegiate ranks, coaching tight ends, wide receivers and running backs for six seasons (1991–96) at Baylor.

I guess time will tell.

A name to look at for Oregon is Bob Stitt. That would be insane. I can see Craig Bohl getting a P5 job because of NDSU.

A list I saw for Oregon on ESPN is : Bohl, John Harbaugh, Stitt, PJ Fleck, and Whittingham.

heard this last week on Cowherd and I thought it was pretty interesting...Joe Klatt said his #1 choice (if he were AD for a day) would be Greg Schiano. Given what he did at Rutgers.

Saban to Texas Book it.

And Butch to MNF and Gruden to Tennessee.

And then we get to witness the greatest battles of all time between the real UT and the fake UT for years to come in the national championship game.

Stated in another thread, Joel Klatt from Fox, stated his #1 coaching choice would be Greg Schiano). I mean look at what he did while at Rutgers. But he does not seem a natural fit for Big 12 or Oregon. Anyone think RichRod is getting canned at Arizona?

Kiffin to Florida ?

Kiffin has been fired from 2 of his last 3 HC jobs. I just don't see any major program giving him a shot at this point. He has proven himself to be a great OC but I don't know of any successful HC in history that has been fired from that many jobs at any point in their career. He is just not HC material.

I know I am biased as are all Tennessee fans but Kiffin was way too immature while at Tennessee to ever be successful on a consistent level. I don't think he has grown up much either. There are the stories of him using a fake name in bars in Alabama to pick up Coeds, his divorce etc... While here he had the party condo downtown with a few of the younger donors. He just doesn't come off as a solid person capable of running a a program. He seems like a guy stuck in his twenties. He also had all kinds of talent at USC and failed miserably. But hey, we gave Dooley and his losing record at La Tech a shot because he was tied to Saban also so who knows?

Kiffin is definitely High Risk / High Reward. But I agree he does not seem like CEO material. He gets a "A" grade as OC, but that is balanced with a "C-D" as a recruiter--given the likelihood of NCAA inquiries. Finally who does he get for his Defensive Staff? Bring Wilcox along with him, again? I don't think any big-time programs come calling. Perhaps he gets a sniff at Fresno, FAU, or SJ State.
