Coaching Rankings.

I love how fans will call him slime when our own basketball coach cheated on his wife.

Because nobody gives a damn about someone's personal life. I don't know if Pearl cheated on his wife and don't care. The "slime" relates to Calipari's activity as a basketball coach. What the hell does Pearl's private life have to with anything other than having some axe to grind?

Try to sell the not giving a damn garbage to Tiger Woods right now.

We had a similar debate in another thread.

Bo Ryan plays an ugly style that I hate.

When Pearl is pressing and scoring 90 it is one of the most attractive styles to top HS talent and looks in some ways like the NBA games they aspire to join.

Many of the people in this thread would tell you that Bo Ryan's style is beautiful. They also want O'Neill as the coach at UT over Pearl.

There is not a snowflakes chance in Hades that Tobias Harris goes to play for Bo Ryan. There is also zero chance that I am worried about meeting Wisconsin in the tournament now that instead of an overachieving team with walk on starters Pearl is going to have a team stacked with talent especially in the backcourt.

There are only two consistent recruiters of top talent in the Big 10 in Matta and Izzo. Michigan and Illinois look to do pretty well, and Crean may be able to bring in some studs at Indiana. Bo Ryan is a great X's and O's coach who plays a style that the Selby and Knight and Harris and other top player would never sign up for.

By the way, wait until UK finishes out their class.

Then compare the talent coming into the SEC (UK, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Vanderbilt) with the talent coming into the Big 10 (Michigan State, Ohio State...maybe Michigan?) and watch as the gap widens...

How can Calipari be number one. He had all the talent when he was at Memphis and could not win it all. He had a starting 5 this year that will have 4 of them going to the NBA and did not win it all. Bruce Pearl is a top 10 coach. And the only reason Self at Kansas has a title is because they played Memphis coached by Cal. Someone had to win that one.

You might want to let Tiger Woods know nobody cares.

Pearl's personal life doesn't change anything about his coaching ability.

But if we are ranking the "slime" cheating on your wife> than cheating at recruiting.

Also many consider Pearl slime for nothing that relates to his personal life.

It's funny that some act like our program is above the fray.

Are you blind or did you not read my first comment about Fisher? Those wins never happened players were payed. Any xheating involved disqualifies you as being a top coach. As far as im concerned. I could be a great coach if the NCAA let me pay players thousands of dollars to come to my school.
JMO,taken from reading your post, you better pay them millions.

I don't buy much of this. Bo Ryan's limitations are more about being in Wisconsin than playing style. Ben Howland and Izzo both grind you into submission. Jamie Dixon plays a similar style.

The recruiting game is fickle. There is little rhyme or reason at times. Thus far, all of CBPs horses have been absolute busts. Let's hope that changes before we proclaim him better than guys with titles.

No, it can't.

Yes it can, and by the way, Cincy got their shot, may have been without their best player but they had their shot, just like MSU has had their shot without their best player and they are taking advantage of it.

Lucas is not as good as Martin, not saying that, be he was still MSU best player.

Happens all the time.

Wake me up when Pearl's wife comes after him with a golf club and sends him to the ER, or even becomes a tenth as famous as Tiger (Personally, I could give a damn about Tiger's indiscretions, also. I haven't followed one minute of the story beyond that first night.). Until then, I don't care. Hey, maybe your precious Cal has cheated on his wife, too. Again, don't know, don't care.

As I mentioned before, I don't care about Pearl being disingenuous. I'm not naive about the game and know there are things happening behind the scene. But, Cal is pure trash and it's pathetic that anybody here would even bother to stand up for that garbage, much less defend a dirty Kentucky coach in comparison to a Vol coach.

And, I really don't care about the cadre of hat disciples who wish to crack on their own fans and coach, then adopt some sort of smug arrogance about it. It's like a certain clique here has found it cool to be an anti-Pearlista.

Here's a hypothetical for you:
Would you still have the same opinion of Calipari if he were coach of the Vols? I have a feeling that the same people who constantly call him "dirty" and "a slimeball" would defend him to the death if he were our coach.

If Calipari somehow became the coach of the Basketvols, I would drive to knoxville and take a dump on Mike Hamilton's desk and then proceed to extinguish the torchbearer's flame.......

my point exactly. Calipari is an OUTSTANDING RECRUITER, whether or not he follows the rules is beside the point. He is a below average X's and O's coach. I wish everyone would get off of Cal's nut$, he is not as great as he is hyped up to be........
I agree 100%.....Cal can recruit but he is not a very good bench coach....like you said he is average very average....there are alot of people on this board who have their nose stuck so far up Cal's @ss they can't see that!

Im glad that I am not the only one that has saw the light......:good!:

bigorange#1, i see u live in arky, how is it? my job has me in Little Rock for the summer? is ther anything to do there?

Calipari shouldn't be first...but he should be ahead of Pearl primarily because he is the REASON that team is that loaded...

You must not understand the meaning of the word.

I listed the reasons before why Cal is trash and different than Pearl. But, whatever. I know it's cooler to rag on our own.

No it's just asinine to throw stones when your house is full of glass.

Awesome. So it's okay for someone to cheat on his wife. That doesn't make him slime. Yet when someone cheats in basketball to essentially put food on the table for his family he is slime. That is a double standard.

Also Pearl taped a 17 year old kid unknowingly so he can rat out a program...A lot of people would consider that "slimy."

Wow. So you are saying that cheating in recruiting makes you pure trash while cheating on your wife is nothing to care about...just wow...

I'm just shocked that he believes cheating on your wife is okay, but cheating to get the best players in the country makes you pure trash.

Associating with WWWes is the 11th Commandment I do believe.

I'll have to do some research first, though.
