This rumor is all I need to hear. Let's give Butch another big raise and extend his contract. At least 4 million per.

I mean, that's what we do every time his name is mentioned for a job in Michigan, right?

Pretty easy to be on the "initial list" when your yet to be named OC was the one making the list. Did not matter who was on Debord's list though because the boosters were making that hire and everyone knew it.

You really think Briles would leave Baylor to come here? I know we have more tradition than Baylor, but he has them set up for a few national title runs. I don't see him leaving what he has built there to come here. It would be a homerun hire for us if he did though.

Hudspeth has the making to be a good SEC hire. If UT ever went small route again (which is likely) then Hudspeth would get a good look if I was the AD. He's been the class of the Sun Belt since he arrived and most of his losses year in and year out are to P5 schools which he plays tough.

If Dantonio leaves Michigan State, how far up on their list is Butch Jones? Would Butch, his staff, and their wives leave us to head back home? If I'm not mistaken, the majority of this staff and their wives are from Michigan.

Could be a very eventful off season if the Dantonio chip falls.

The thing I don't like about this thread are the number of posters who think MSU is a better program than UTK. Recent issues aside, we are on par with anyone.

He has been passed over so many times. Who knows. But if UT wasnt afraid to chance getting turned down by Mike Gundy then why not Baylors coach.

It sure seems that Tennessee fans have a much higher opinion of Butch than the rest of the country. It's as if, well, if other teams want him, that means his losing record at UT isn't reality.

Butch has proven nothing. Nobody will go after him until he's proven something.

And he was never going to Michigan. Don't be so thick. Though, if he had the chance he absolutely would have IMO.

Butch will most likely be 3-4 after Saturday....he will be scrambling again to find 6 wins, The Big Orange likely would win the last 4 games.....Butch gets a raise and probably an extension....................an offer from MSU???? Please
