Which is worse? The person who likes to gloat about being right, or the person who can't stand to be told they were wrong gets butthurt?

They both suck, but I'd give the slight edge in a-holery to the gloater.

BS. The amount of bragging that goes on from the ones who "called it" is nauseating. Same with your insults toward anyone who watches the game with a belief we can win it.

I won't insult or say I told you so. Re-read the by-laws of the club (I'm saving you a spot if interested).

Like I said, I hope we win. We won't, but I hope we do.

The ones that I don't understand are the ones who post after a loss who sound happy that they "told us" so.

I have to admit I'm a bit surprised by the number of people picking Tennessee.

I think the reality is most of them don't really expect to win, they just feel guilty if they pick against the Vols. I have no problem with it. If it helps th enjoy the week and the buildup to the game, I'm all for it.

There is no right or wrong. I just hate when people expect the improbable then spend a week complaining about why it didnt happen and what Butch should have done when the outcome was all but a foregone conclusion.

I am hoping for the biggest upset in UT history but will not be joining the masses on the ledge when it doesn't happen.

My predictions fwiw, if anyone gives rats azz: Mattresses will burn. Dogs will be kicked. Inquiries and hearings will start. TV screens will be busted. Armchair QBs doing shoulda-coulda-wouldas. Calls for coach firings. My only hope is that will be Sooner nation responses, but unfortunately that is VN next Saturday night.

That's who I'm addressing since they also brand themselves as "realists." Maybe a party split is needed so the really real realists can be properly identified

Careful, you're boarding on being a realist!

This is a really hard game to judge the outcome. Gut tells you OU will dominate and your heart wants UT to pull the upset. Does UT come out and lay it on all the line? I think thats the only way we have a shot. I will say if they somehow manage to pull the upset. The outlook for the rest of the season is looking pretty good. I think we are a better team than most analyst gave us credit for starting the season.

Anyone happy about a loss or gloating about being right should be banned imo. So should people that love to throw left handed insults behind the blanket of anonymity.

There have been many upsets in college football through out the years. Some have us as on the winning side of things. (Miami, Sugar Bowl: Auburn, Bo Jackson: Notre Dame, Floyd Miley:) Some have us on the losing side of things: ( Wyoming, 2008: Vandy, 2005: or Kentucky 2011)

My point is that upsets do happen. They can't be predicted and that is why they are called upsets.

I personally feel that we are more on the side of getting beat than on the side of pulling the upset.

There are times that I can just feel what a game is going to be like and other times I can't. I am not getting the feeling of an upset on this one.

I can agree with this. Except the second-guessing. That's the fun part. :)

Win or lose, I'm a vol for life. My mind tells me and will most likely lose on Saturday...but my heart is hoping we pull off the upset of the ages.

I just want the Vols to play well and not beat themselves. We face a very talented, experienced and deep football team that doesn't need any help from us.

We just need to fight to win each play and not blink when they do execute...just get ready for the next snap...

this is really the bottom line. of course its a long shot to win...we see reality. our team is what it is...so fans have a choice: either be a miserable, negative, whiny douchebag....or be positive, happy, cautiously optimistic, VOL FAN!!!

i will always be the latter. sunshine pumper til the end. capitalize when I feel like it.

What would you call someone who spent weeks trying to convince the entire board that something was going to happen and it never did? Call them out all you want just try to remember

The point is, cheering for UT football is supposed to be fun. If you get enjoyment from running down fellow UT fans after a loss you might not be doing it right

I couldn't agree more. I also thought 2 years was long enough to not have to deal with that garbage anymore and didn't expect it especially from a Mod.

The a-holery of the gloater is equaled only by the whining of the butthurter.

They are opposing halves of the same coin.

They both suck, but I'd give the slight edge in a-holery to the gloater.

I agree they both suck, but you are out of your gord if you think many of sunshine pumpers wouldn't rub it in the same way if we win.

It is human nature. People wouldn't make predictions on an online message board at all if they weren't dealing with some kind of complex to show how smart/right they are. We are all a little distrubed if you ask me.

The sunshine pumpers are the ones that exhibit the following post game:

miserable, negative, whiny douchebag

Realists (or whatever PJ decides to call us) will sit back and watch, waiting for the next game we get to cheer on our Vols.

So VN, what's worse?

A. Pumping sunshine 24/7, declaring we're going to whip dey azz for every game where we are an underdog, place ridiculous expectations on Butch, and then crucify him when he can't meet those expectations...

OR

B. Acknowledging that we're about to get man-handled by OU, all the while supporting Butch 100% through the rebuilding process.

Because I consider myself firmly in B camp.

So, if all the ifs fall in place and bullfrogs do have wings and we get candy and nuts for Christmas, ... how much crow must a "realist" eat, and how should it be prepared?
