Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

Ever heard of the doll experiment? It was a social science experiment done in the 1950s to test the impact of segregation on black children. The experiment gave black school children the choice of playing with either a white doll or a black doll. This was an implicit test for racial bias.

The black children overwhelmingly chose the white doll and rejected the black doll. When asked why, the black kids said that was because the black doll was ugly, mean, and dumb while the white was pretty, nice, and smart. This engrained racial inferiority was one of the factors used by the Supreme Court in the historic Brown v Board of Education case.

CNN redid the doll experiment a couple of years ago with a twist and aired the results on TV. This time they just didn't ask black children which doll they preferred but also asked white children.

Guess what? The same results as 60 years ago. Both black and white children overwhelmingly chose to play with the white dolls. They both said the black dolls were ugly, mean, and dumb. They both said the white dolls were pretty, nice, and smart. The most heartbreaking moment being when they asked the black children which doll they looked more like and the black children point to the black doll they just called ugly, mean, and dumb.

If you don't think white supremacy and black inferiority isn't cooked into the fabric of American society, then you're just playing dumb. Listen to the children. Unlike adults who have the filter of political correctness, children say the absolute truth. And according to our children both black and white, white supremacy is alive and well in every walk of American life.

I Have read about this. Did you ever stop to think about what age children still play with dolls? 3...4..5...? lets even stretch that and say that they were 6 or so. That would mean that at most, those kids had been to kindergarten. Been outside the home for half a day for 9 months, and in 1950 would have been pre integration...so the kids only saw kids that look like them.

Doesnt that mean that this is NOT learned behavior taught by society, as these kids were never socialized. They are small enough to play with dolls , they have been only at home with mommy.

That means 1 of 2 things. Either the kids were taught, AT HOME , that black people are mean dumb and ugly...or the black people they interact with were this way for the black kids... or it is a universal belief that naturally occurs in children to believe that black dolls or people are not as attractive or nice as white dolls or people. If these kids are so small, their beliefs and experiences havent come from the society you LONG DESPERATELY to blame, but have either come from their families or genetics.

Having come from a mixed family with 2 black siblings and 2 white siblings i find this fascinating. I wish this experiment were done on my family si we could see the results. Regardless, i think you are dead wrong in your assumptions and beliefs...and your victim mentality will cripple you and all the folks that believe the way you do. Thankfully, my black sisters werent fed the lies that you have swallowed whole and they are happy and productive people. Cheers.

So you found a few people asking for white people to fix their problems in the past 6 days? That's not very many at all. Some of those tweets don't really relate to our discussion.

I think you are focusing on the loud minority. Most progressives and liberals aren't saying wild-ass things like this. It's just the radicals. There are millions of blacks on twitter...of course some of them will be saying stupid things.
Are you really dense enough to think that was it?!?! lolololooololoooollllllll. nah man. it's not just 7 people. If I went back to the day after the Dallas shooting, freak would kill me for posting so many. You asked for examples, I gave you some. I picked 7 out of hundreds, possibly thousands in ONE WEEK. Just take the L my friend.

Too much logic

Love how all the Hillary dip$hits were so quick to jump to his defense. Lol.

"You have Hillary who has called black teens or black kids super predators, you have Donald Trump who’s openly racist. We have a presidential candidate who has deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate. That doesn’t make sense to me because if that was any other person you’d be in prison. So, what is this country really standing for?"

I appreciate that

I'm warming up to old Butch but hes still got a lot to prove

You always show up at foosball time.

Let me add to that. You're usually complaining about how bad the coaching staff is, and how they suck, the team sucks and Tennessee sucks in general.

So I hope after nearly 10 years of suckage, we wipe out the rest of the SEC.

It's wasn't just Hitlery supporters that ignored this.

It amazes me how worked up people can get over a piece of cloth... on both sides of the issue. Just like I couldn't understand the emotional reactions by whites or blacks over a Confederate flag, it amazes me when I see the reaction from those for or against Colin's actions.

You people have far bigger fish to fry than to worry yourselves about a damn flag. Instead of us coming together and fighting our common enemy that robs, harms and enslaves us, we choose to divide ourselves over the most trivial of items imaginable.

All of this over a flag. Not justice. Not the erosion of our rights. Not the destruction of the nuclear family. Not the decay in human decency and ethics. No, let's act primitive and fight amongst ourselves over some fabric.

He lost me at Castro

Honestly like I said before, I think it's just an attention thing cause he's about to lose his job. If I felt he were really standing against oppression I wouldn't have an issue with him.

I disagree with you there. I don't know why you assume he's just doing it for attention. Motive is not proof.

Here is my take

He has been in the league for 6 years. For those 6 years, he had no trouble standing for the Anthem.

Now, hes fighting for a position on the team and likely a roster spot

I really think he got some bad advise from someone and started this as a reason to hold on to his position, instead of earning it. He thought he would make this absurd statement, hoping it would force the hand of the management. If they did release him, it wasnt because he sucked but because he spoke out against preceived racism, in turn, making management look bad

The timing is just too good to be anything but a ploy to force a decision, not based on merit, but how the public sees A victim against the oppressor, in this case, the Niners
