First, let me state that I don’t like the Nike brand. I think their stitching is designed to fail after a certain length of time. Thus, encouraging the odds, you’ll be a constant repeat customer. I’m a Spalding man myself, so there’s the end to that.
Now Colin Kaepernick’s act of protest had nothing to do with the flag per se. What happened is biased people REFUSED to understand or accept what his objection was saying. He was objecting to the way the country in general and the police, in particular, treated his people. But the biased insisted on twisting his message into a form of anti-Americanism and anti-flag nonsense. This carried over into the Nike-hate, which was stupid beyond belief. Why? We have homeless vets and other homeless people who are forced to walk around barefoot for lack of shoes. Or shoes so worn out they're falling apart. The biased angry mob, a number of them to vented their spite by burning their shoes, instead of donating them to the aforementioned homelesss vets and other homeless people. Stupidity truly is incurable.
By the way, who among you are even aware that the Mennonites, Jehovah’s Witness, and Amish do not pledge to the flag to avoid violating God’s command. The command to not worship an image. And yes, it is worship because it has rituals associated with it. On hearing the anthem, you’re to stand and either salute or place your hand over your heart. Or like that
vilified gymnast girl at the Brazil Olympics, stand at attention. And preferably sing along with the anthem. Those are rituals. Rituals are firmly connected to a form of religion, whether some traditional belief system or even a superstitious belief. In any case, these religious institutions do not practice the pledge or rituals connected with it. Nope, not defending them, I’m asking you how many of you even know of these groups who like Colin don’t stand or do anything else regarding the Pledge of Allegiance?
To make their absurdity worse, those same ignorant and arrogant folks who yap about respecting the flag are among worst violators. I will display examples but first, for those who much as care, I’ll also provide an official link that explains how to treat our reverend flag. And let me tell you, I believe Old Glory deserves respect. Now, let’s look at what some of Colin’s harshest critics and most fervent flag-lovers do with that flag, yet presume to judge that Kaepernick guy. Mind you; it’s not just a few people, you see it often if you look how ignorance and arrogance contradict what they claim as justification to spew spite and hate at others for their “disrespect.”
