Why is there a sudden stupidity out there that FSU with Rodemaker is the equivalent to last year's 12-1 TCU?

And yet, if they were merely the equivalent, we could expect them to advance to the championship game.

Why are you acting like FSU did not lose their best player that determined their season. FL win...big deal that's a 4 loss team. FSU has a very good defense but they now have little to no offense now. If they played Iowa right now it would end in a tie 0-0.

Because that isn’t part of the committee’s selection criteria. The only legitimate things being completely ignored in all this is Texas loss to Oklahoma and Alabama’s loss to Texas. If they are going to just ignore losses and select teams based on who they think would win in a head-to-head matchup they should come out and say that

I'm really torn about this one. Yes, FSU defiantly did everything to earn a spot in the playoff. Yes, FSU would get its doors blown off by any of the other three and UGA. I guess this goes back to last year where the opposite ideology allowed TCU in. The only reason Michigan couldn't beat them because they didn't have tape on 'em. Once they faced a real team it was an embarrassment not only to TCU, but the playoff committee as well.

This little tempest of rage is going to die down really fast, and all who were carrying pitchforks will suddenly be whistling quietly and hoping everyone's memories are short, when FSU gets hammered by UGa in the Orange Bowl.

I mean, FSU really needed to be matched up against UGa. Anyone else, and they wouldn't have a prayer's chance of claiming a national title, UCF style.

But that would require them to beat the Dawgs. And that's simply not happening. It's not even gonna be close.

So don't spend too much time fretting the CFP decision. All four of the teams they did pick would whup FSU's butt. Which means FSU didn't belong.

I'm watching it. The biggest problem with the CFP has been the games/matchups have been lopsided. They did their best to prevent that. FSU deserved to go. But I don't deserve to watch them get boatraced

Georgia 38 - FSU -10 in whatever bowl they match up in - that is if Kirby calls off the Dawgs. If another team lost their star quarterback it would have been the same basically. No one except FSU fans wanted to see the playoff massacre to come. Unfortunate yes but reality. Vols might have faced the same thing with Hooker going down last year but the bozo game vs. South Carolina made it a moot issue. TV ratings and revenue will be far better.

So what did TCU accomplish last year that FSU failed to accomplish this year? Undefeated conference champion went from 3rd seed to 5th seed within a year.

Its simple, the NCAA now is pimping football for the highest dollar like they do the NCAA basketball tourny. How many years have we seen Duke, North Carolina, Louisville (all in the ACC by the way) and Kansas all in four different brackets so they get the elite 8 or final four matchups that they want to exploit it for the highest TV revenue dollars? Make no mistake about it THEY want Texas Bama match up and FSU was the sacrificial lamb for it.

Well UGA and Bama pretty much played a de facto quarterfinal game last night . The same way Washington and Oregon did Friday night. Timing is everything w/ college football and I don’t agree with it a lot of the time, but I hope the 12 team CFP will make a big difference.

I’m saying the consistency isn’t there. Lots on here today moving between best and deserving arguments to make the case for Bama. Just call this what it is, bias and money and power getting what they want, throwing out fair play and what’s right. If it’s the 4 best, fine, put UGA in. If it’s 4 most deserving, then put FSU in.

The powers that be wanted an SEC team, and we’re willing to overlook what happened all year and particularly two weeks ago while holding other teams to that standard.
