I'm not. But its very possible. They're not even close to automatic L's. Why would they be?
We'll never beat Ole Miss at tailgating. They have too much in state talent.Anything less than 9 or 10 games should never be considered a "job well done" at a traditional football school like UT. Bill Battle got fired for losses that are being pre-excused for Jones.
Lowering expectations lowers results and rewards mediocrity. Yet every year, UT fans lower expectations a little more and seem surprised when our record continues to drop. If winning 5 or 6 games is acceptable, we should have kept DooleyCo, banked our $6+ mil and tried to beat Ole Miss at tailgating.
Preseason speculations in college football always do a wonderful job of overrating and underrating teams with a few exceptions of teams that perform as expected. We have no idea what we're going to be like next year. We still have talent and I've seen many a team that lost big names only to win much better with teams that didn't have as many stars but just gelled as a team. Of course we've all seen star-studded teams that perform as expected too. There's a reason college football is known for its unpredictability.
The season before us could be worse than we ever expected or better than we ever expected.
