College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Bruce blew a fuse. I swear I saw steam coming out of his ears.
Pretty funny seeing little Stevie Pearl laugh as he tried to pull his dad back.

When he watches the replay, I hope he sees that the Memphis guy didn’t touch the Auburn player. The Auburn guy just flopped as he missed the bunny. Refs do normally call a foul there but in this case there was actually no contact so it was a good no call. It was funny to see Bruce go ballistic.

Yeah but Yale is one of those 12 seed like teams that can beat most anybody on a good day

Either way

Kentuckys ceiling is just not very high
They’ve got the returning national POY and Carson Wallace which we were all wanting. Returning an unpperclassman at pg. can’t imagine they can’t play at a high level if they gell

You forgot how much talent Cal has wasted over the years

I’m not saying they’re going to have a great season - I’m just disagreeing with the poster saying they have a low ceiling. The talent is available whether or not it gets developed is what’s in question.

Maybe KY puts the pieces together, but watching them struggle against Yale today was beautiful . FYI, Ivy League does not give athletic scholarships. KY is not getting much this year out or that $8M salary they pay him.
Yale gives full financial aid to students from lower income backgrounds (you don't have to be in poverty to qualify) and they give admissions preferences to targeted athletes. They do have higher academic standards for athletes than non Ivy schools but the talent pool isn't as shallow as it may seem.

Memphis is taking it to Auburn today. Auburn’s shot selection is horrible. Kedren Johnson of Auburn is one of the cockiest players in college basketball. If he was a really good player it would be super annoying but it doesn’t bother me because he’s not that good. He’s just amusing.
KD Johnson more like HD Johnson (HD=Hot Dog)

Good comeback win for LSU today over Wake Forest. Matt McMahon from Oak Ridge is a very likable coach for LSU in direct contrast to Will Wade. I think he is a very underrated coach, too. I think he will do a good job at LSU.

Yep good points. I went to one of the Academies and was recruited for track. Of course the academies do not offer scholarships but there is some help to navigate entry. But in the end you got to be able to personally navigate the academics.

Remember who their coach is. They are good, but he isn’t the best in-game coach. I think they will be inconsistent shooting the ball.

UNC was a #1 team in name only. Houston is a legitimately great win though.

Yeah, UNC is 6-4 now and has zero good wins. Bubble team as of today. Anyone without big brand bias knew they were not deserving of the #1 ranking pre-season. Major overreaction to a good tournament run.
