College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Michigan State is going to lose. Wow. Good thing we didn’t play them in a real game or it would have hurt our NET 😜

In all seriousness though, that’s shocking. Also kind of helps to temper my expectations a bit for this team because maybe MSU just sucks ass. Basketball is a weird sport, man. So much parity going on right now.
There's always that one team that everybody thinks is near the top that just falls apart every year. It was the preseason #1 last year. I don't really think it 's gonna be Michigan St because Izzo is too good at what he does but you never know. Nothings a given in sports.

God love you for the work you do, but the characterization of Rick Barnes/Tennessee as unwilling donors and participants isn't really necessary unless you are aware of a similar lack of willingness in all other charity work. A failure to provide an equal amount of attention and contribution to your particular charity of choice doesn't necessarily make him/them selfish, unwilling, uncaring, etc.

Praise Muss all you want for his work and willingness to be actively involved in your charity. I'm glad he is there and willing to help out. But you'd probably defend him tooth and nail if the American Red Cross, St. Jude, or UNICEF chastised him for not making a similar effort for their work. I'd bet there are numerous organizations in Tennessee/CRB's corner, as well, despite you not being a big fan of their participation level in the work you do.

Not always the case. I’ll name Shane Beamer as one example. John Calipari might be one we love to hate, but Barnes has more than held his own.
And on the opposite side, coaches like Izzo have been very successful and nobody hates him. I do think a lot of successful coaches are hated, but not just cause they’re successful. It’s hard not to get an ego when you’re getting paid 8 mil a year and are one of the best in your profession

Pembar and Olivier leading scorers for each team.

Kinda figures ON looks like an all American after leaving…..we’ll see what he looks like long term. We’ve seen this story before.

Watching Auburn vs. Baylor and I’m reminded every season of this thought when I see Pearl, but why don’t opposing players peg Pearl with the ball when he “coaches” his way out onto the court. It’d be an automatic T. Coaches aren’t the same as ref in being “part of the court” per say. Hit him twice and he’s gone. Just once I want to see it happen.

Yea, I know every coach does it as some level but he consistently does it when the team is on the side of the court he’s coaching on. Most coaches only do it from the backcourt.

25 points on 11-15 shooting. We’ve definitely seen that before. Probably means Michigan fans should expect 4-5 straight games of bricks in the near future.

Maybe he really has figured it all out though. Definitely not rooting against him. He had his moments here I’ll cherish.

Man I was so excited about him. If this season doesn’t end the way we want it too I’ll always wonder what could’ve been had he stayed

It’s a fair point, but they also played Stony Brook so I’m going to need to see a larger sample first to see what kind of production he’ll have.

He’s kind of “the guy” there so he’s getting a lot of minutes to put those numbers up.

Fair enough. I certainly wouldn’t have expected 16/14 a night here. But I do wish we had one more capable big, and he’s certainly capable

True. I’m okay with it though because it looks like we’re giving Estrella and Phillips a bit of run that maybe they don’t get if Ledlum is here. So, long term, it might actually benefit us.

Definitely could help long term. Not sure we’re gonna have a better shot at a F4 for a while after this team with Covid year Santi, Knecht, and Josiah

That’s true. I do think this is the year to go all-in, I’m just not sure how much better this team would really be with Ledlum. It’s possible it could make a big impact, but I think his 15-20 minutes he likely would have gotten are just fine being distributed across Awaka, Aidoo, Phillips, and JJJ at the 4.
