KD Johnson acts like someone has injected him with excess doses of red bull. He can be dangerous but he good for out of control play. A staple of a Pearl team.

He can shoot them into a big lead, but he’s just as capable if not more capable of shooting them out of a game.

The Torvik profile for them (using it because it’s free) reveals a lot. They’re not an elite defensive FG% team and they’re downright bad at defending the 3. They got burned in games against Stanford and now Oregon State where the opponent shot better than their usual from distance and Arizona had no answer.

Yeah I noticed that we also jumped them from 4 to 3 in NET as well. So all around that loss helps us in the metrics

I have a lot of respect for Tom Izzo, but it may be time to hang it up. I know they made the Sweet 16 last year, but the program has taken a major step back the past four years. They were preseason top five and are on their way to missing the tournament.

I think the take home here might be that preseason popularity polls are speculative fiction, not that Izzo is completely washed.

We have a couple of really nice wins on our resume with Wisconsin and Illinois. If we could have just won 1 of UNC, Kansas, or Purdue, we’d have a 1-seed resume right now.

Agreed. Considering how Houston has fared on the road against quality opponents, I don’t get it. It’s not like they are beating team downs on the road. They’ve adjusted since that 0-2 week but it wouldn’t shock me to see KSU win. That’s a tough place to play.

EDIT: Realized when scrolling through the game list today Houston is at home lol. Still a high line though.

It does, especially when you figure on it being a low scoring game. O/U is 129, so Vegas must not expect KSU to get too far out of the 40s, because Houston isn't likely to score 70 at their pace. KSU averages 74.1 ppg.
