Yes, they were terribly boring. He had basically a crapola roster. The guy was absolutely an incredibly unbelievable recruiter. The talent he was accumulating was top-tier in a number of ways. He was absolutely responsible for assembling what would end up being the best collection of talent since the Ernie and Bernie years.
Unfortunately, you had a control freak athletic director trying to “control” an egomaniac who was not going to fit into Dickey’s box. He was definitely on the right course, and Jerry Green was the direct beneficiary of all this talent.
Pat Summitt fought hard to make the Dickey-KO marriage work because she wanted that for the university that she loved. The AD ended up winning in this battle of personalities.
I do think KO’s issues in his personal life and his inability to “get along” with others was the reason he couldn’t stick anywhere. I hated his language, but he was a really funny guy……when he wasn’t throwing choice words towards other folks.
