College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Which is the official SEC Champion result--regular season or tourney? Or is it both--which would be dumb. It should be regular season.

Already answered but they are designated at Regular Season Champion and Tournament Champion. To my knowledge the regular season champion is considered the "champion", of course it get a bit odd since it can be shared.

The ACC on the other hand I think recongizes the ACCT champion as the official champion.

Pacific fired their coach a few days ago, I wonder if the players are expressing some discontent. Not that they’ve won any of their other conference games.

I knew there had to be something to that. Saw that halftime score and thought there must be a bunch of players suspended or something.

After 8 minutes of action, Zona and UCLA tied at 11. That's right, 22 total points. A barn burner in the Conference of Champions.

I can see a lot of ways this can get weird. Especially related to the selection process of teams and the bias around that. And its impact on recruiting.
Could see this turning into an event where the top 3-4 teams of the P6 conferences from the year prior get in, kind of like the champions league in Europe. Then maybe a similar thing for mid majors and lower level P6 teams. Definitely like the thought behind it and think it could turn into something really fun and meaningful, if done right.

I know he’s from the Pacific Northwest, so probably no chance at this, but I wonder if there’s a chance we could poach Tyson Degenhart from Boise for his final year. Have always loved his game and I think he would thrive in a Barnes system - also a great defender and rebounder at the 4 spot.

Yes. I’d love if it was something you earn. Like conference tournament championship earns you a spot next year for the major conferences. Would add more stakes to the conference tournament AND create incentive for players to return next year with your same team
