Colorado OT - Jordan Seaton - Could he transfer?

Playing better and coached better are 2 different things. The culture that kid is in plays a big part on his performance. Didnt Bru McCoy switch colleges multiple times before coming here? We forget, these kids are 17 and 18 year olds. Some with parents that are easily persuaded and that causes bad decisions. If he did come here. IF HE DID COME HERE. Big if guys, dont bite my head off. Im not saying the players would welcome him with open arms and all would be giddy. I am saying the culture here would set him on the straight and narrow. That is all.
Bru never said what that kid said in the tone he said it on National signing day. We don't need to risk the culture in our locker room on him. Let him go elsewhere. We have a team full of guys by all accounts who love to play together and you prefer to possibly go after 1 guy who can change everything CJH has built ? That's is crazy talk. Maybe I could see the risk if we didn't already have a lot of talent. Just at this point no dice

I will also say Seaton has talent. And IF he does hit the portal good luck to him and his future. He should chase his dreams I just don’t believe he fits in with what we are doing here.

Would he come? I mean our coach don’t look like him. That was Deion’s sell, was it not? All in all. I think we are good with what we have.

Idk. I think quite the opposite actually. It’s a circus no doubt but the main clown has brought in the money and attention. It’s Colorado. They were a non factor before he arrived there.
Yes, he has brought attention to Colorado and that attention has made the football program into a clown show that a real Buff fan should be ashamed of. From my vantage point it seems to be about an attention seeking narcissist and his sons. I may be wrong, but.

I mean you may be right as well. I think was not debatable is he’s brought attention and money to the program. It ultimately will be a failed experiment but that failed experiment may provide them with the resources (money, attention) to be successful in their next hire.

He’s a true freshman and played 2 games. You could probably count on 1 hand how many true freshman make an impact on the OL each year
That's great.

Why take the risk? Pretty much anybody that's touched that program at this point is a problem, fair or not. Plenty of talent out there.

You guys talk like this staff wont take his Talent if he wants to come. Just because you guys feel jaded with his antics doesnt mean the staff feels the same way
In case you haven't noticed, culture and fit with it is a very large part of what CJH does. He doesn't take someone just because of their start rating. If he can find one that fits the culture, he will pounce, if they don't fit, or would cause a rift in the locker room, they will not be here.

Hope he has a great career, but I prefer it not be in Knoxville. After his signing day antics, he’d never fully be trusted by the staff or teammates. Besides, we have Heard and Sanders now. If we need an OT to give Sanders a year in the weight room, there will be several options.
Benz Warren and Jesse Perry going to be players.

Our coach is white… In explaining his choice, Seaton said "Why are you not helping someone who looks like you?"

The more they play and lose the less desirable Deion becomes. He's not exactly setting the world on fire as a coach. In fact, I'm not sure I would want any of his players here because of all the locker room trouble they are having. Trouble in the locker room is like a disease. It spreads.
Folks Act like he took over Alabama and all of sudden they started losing. he walked into a bigger dumpster fire than any UT fan can imagine.. a 1 win team. They turned that into 4 wins. If they can make a bowl this year that's a huge turnaround. Since 2006 Colorado has not won more than 5 games twice (6-7 in 07 and 10-4 in 2016) and had a winning record once. They have had 2 one win seasons 2 two win season and 2 three win seasons. 6 wins would be amazing for them. They have been worse than Vanderbilt during that stretch (vandys 6 legit bowls to colorado 2.5/covid year 4 win bowl) and Vandy at least plays in the SEC....

Prime is a polarizing figure and the heat coming his way is expected but believe you me his leash in Colorado is longer than most think. He just has to start winning before the donor dollars dry up and in the current Big12 that's the not big ask many think it is. If he can get his oline to Vandy level talent he can win games in the big 12. At this point he needs an Oline coach and a QB to replace his son. If Colorado had any semblance of an Oline they'd be a terror. They have talent everywhere else. Sheduer gets sacked on average like 5 times a game. 2024 11 games 52 sacks. So far 6 sacks this year in 2 games. He got Sacked last year as many times as he did in his first 2 years combined. Name me a team whose QB gets sacked 4 times a game much less 5 and wins?

Colorado will be fine as a program.

Deion is all sizzle, no steak. Same as most of his NFL days. More about looks and phrases than results.

I don’t know the man and have nothing personal against him, but I wouldn’t let me son go play for him. He strikes me as a guy who is first and foremost about Deion.

I'm just guessing, and characters can change...BUT... I imagine Seaton probably is swimming near the same dependable waters as Walter Nolen. Regardless of talent sometimes character and dependability (I realize they are youngins) is richer than talent. NOW...when talent and character get together...then you got something. JMO

Colorado chose to be a non-factor several years ago refusing to participate in the spending trend in college sports. They collapsed & realized they gotta step up. Deon is their first attempt paying market value coaching salaries. They could attract a good young coach now that they joined the 21st Century.

Based on what? he won for 2 years at Jackson State. he went into Colorado and is trying to turn around a hot mess. Anyone in their right mind that expected them to go to a bowl game last year after being a 1 win team is smoking crack. They were a better team last season than they'd been in the years before he got there. These are FACTS not opinion. They are most likely a better team this year than they were last season. There is no coach in America Colorado could have hired that could have went and turned that program into a playoff contender in 1 or 2 years. he has brought in more talent in the last 2 years than they have seen in the last decade (opinion) eventually it will work out, he has a good staff. I am sticking to my guns that they win more than 4 games this year they have a schedule and talent level to win 5-6 games. Going from 1 to 4 to 5-6 is an improvement. I get we are all on the stupid championship or bust mentality here in the SEC but trust me Colorado is not on that they just want to not suck at this point and he is doing that. Yes they looked bad against Nebraska (top 25 recruiting classes in 2023-24). Colorado plays at least 7 teams worse than Nebraska this year and already have 1 win.

I am not sure how many people actually watched the Nebraska game. They sacked Sanders 4 times got a pick 6 and blocked a field goal in the first half. Nebraska had 3 drives worth mentioning. They scored on 3 of 12 possessions. the other 8? 6 punts a missed 32 yard FG and Victory Formation. Colorados defense was decent to good. But nah it does not matter to people here they just see Colorado lost and it what they wanted. Everything going wrong with that team now is fixable this season. Cut the penalties and get the online gelled. They are starting a true freshman at LT he is gonna take time.

Colorado make a bowl this year I am calling it now. The 5 wins they need come against
Colorado State
Baylor
Cincinnati
Texas Tech (who had a game one 52-51 shootout with Abilene Christian)
last win comes against either Kansas or UCF. Their 4 ranked opponents are also not out of the question, with the exception of Oklahoma State the other 3 are suspect.

You know you folks could relax if you would just trust Josh to manage this team. His decisions have been spot on since he got here. I'm of the opinion that if Josh wants em, then I wants em.

Deion has a lot of “me” players.

Coach Heupel recruits and cultures “TEAM” players.

Results are teams that win like ours versus teams like theirs who are “all show with no go”.

I think the OL room has been built nicely so he’s not a must take imo. You said he sucked which is what I was responding to.
