I know your post is sarcastic, but nothing said in this thread is based on anything other than conjecture.

All year long, this has been a thing and it makes it damn hard to enjoy the accomplishments of this team and staff. I wish it had been put to bed a long time ago, but for whatever reason, it continues.

I can’t stop people from speculating about the Coach, but I can suggest, these kids don’t deserve any distractions, it’s just 4 days, can’t we just give it a rest?

It’s the Tennessee Way! If a coach has potential to win something there will be someone on VN or a bunch of regular fans trying to cause a distraction about his future. Leave it alone. If he wants to be here he will stay. If not, he will leave. UT, nor the fan base, will not have any effect on that decision.

He controls everything about the future of his program and UT baseball. It will not be that way at any other program he may go to. It just depends on what he values.

He was never really going to land a top football coach. Even without possible sanctions, it doesn’t happen. Just an unrealistic expectation for a guy 5 days on the job, and the landscape of college football has shown that top coaches aren’t taking lateral positions anymore.

For some Vol fans it is a hard line to swallow that New AD and New Coach were not a package deal from the beginning. In typical UT fashion a lot of money was spent for unproven hires. Time will tell.

Ole miss nor tenn are historically great programs. Ten has been to Omaha way more.

ole miss has more fan tradition and better facilities now. However with promises of facility upgrades that advantage to ole miss will be gone. They will still hold an advantage over Tenn in fan support but clearly TV has seen the glory days of fan support here

ole miss has a worse scholarship structure than tenn. Ten has the hope and some common market advantages. So in this area give the Vols an advantage over ole miss

so yea while not having to play ole miss or MSU was a good break this season that doesn’t mean in the Long term ole miss is a better program.

I have never said that he was leaving. I have said that there should be a dollar amount that we should stop negotiating at. If one of the other programs is willing to throw more money at a 5th year coach, and CTV is not fully committed to building his own program here, then we should say “Bye Bye”.
The idea that anything we say here on VN is or would effect the players or coaches is an ego trip for you and some others in this thread.
It will play out in due time. I have made my pledge to the Fund. Have you?

Ole Miss offers in-state tuition to anyone who has a X GPA and X ACT/SAT score. Still have to find ball players who are both good athletically and smart. But they definitely have some workarounds that help them recruit nationally pretty well.
