Commodity shortages

Tip- Create an account at Bestbuy, Walmart, Gamestop, ect. you need checkout quick, no time for typing name, address and such.

I was able to get a S series in Clarksville lol. Had to drive up to the Best Buy.

Atleast I have this for my son in a worst case scenario.

Now I am just hoping I can find the X and then I will take the S for my room.

Continues to amuse seeing "conservatives" whining that the government isn't doing more to fix shortages.

I think you're missing the point. It's the supply chains that got shut down. Many of these ports are also being held down by unions. The average unload time in the US is 3x that of other countries

2 new trucks sitting on the yard ready to get to work but can't because Qualcomm is at least a month behind on sending ELS units and of course the DOT refuses to modify or even give temporary relief to their ELS regulations. So yeah Velo the .gov could do something to help.

I can’t believe I had to order a darn lawnmower and weed eater, I can only imagine building a house.
We've been lucky but likely made it easier by buying all fixtures like appliances, plumbing, lights and fans on our own through my wife's company. We took the oven over to the house this morning and that was the final piece missing. Even the garage doors were already installed. Others aren't so lucky right now

They are reading from the same sheet of music...

This week's truth must be for the White House to blame the shortages and supply chain issues on increased demand. Buttigieg even mentioned that increased demand was a consequence of the actions Biden has taken to boost the post-COVID economy.

Buttigieg: US supply chain issues will 'certainly' continue into 2022

"Look, part of what's happening isn't just the supply side, it's the demand side. Demand is off the charts," he added.

Media got the talking points also. Seen headlines about the consumers being the problem.

I think that Kraft/Heinz made the same announcement last week and indicated that it would be permanent.

With few exceptions I can't think of many times that prices rolled back to the starting point after the "crisis" passed - or when price rollbacks didn't involve downsizing of container or contents.

Yeah, that makes sense; when have pete and jen ever steered us wrong? Probably people in a huge rush to restock all that overstocked toilet paper.

FedEx/UPS might have added temporary surcharges when fuel prices soared a few years ago. Maybe airlines have done that as well. But generally with consumer staples, once prices go up across the board they won’t come back down.

Obviously the price of gas at the pump also fluctuates.

Food processors usually don’t announce price hikes. They just quietly reduce how much they put in their containers. Half gallon (paper) cartons of OJ went below 60 ounces at some point and I didn’t notice right away.

I'm having a hard time believing the backlog at the ports is causing backlogs of groceries and food supplies. If we're reliant on imports for food production, we're screwed 6 ways from Sunday.

They may not be one in the same. There are other supply chain issues besides the ports I'm sure specially related to the trucking industry which is part of the issue at the ports.

There simply aren't enough trucks on the road. That affects everyone in the supply chain
