Commodity shortages

Inside A Soviet Grocery Store

There wasn’t all that much to buy.

During the era of the Soviet era the rest of the world was largely cut off from what went on within the USSR. Rumors were widespread for many years until the 1980s when reports from visitors shed some light on the situation. Stories of families going without food and clothes and people defecting on a regular basis circulated around the globe. One of the most common rumors was that the grocery store shelves in Russia and other Soviet states were just about bare.

Since the early 80s I’ve been saying that a service only economy was unsustainable in the long term. The bill is coming due.

A service economy only amounts to moving a bucket of cash from place to place and slopping a lot over the sides to pay taxes, waste, and things like fuel costs. At some point, there's nothing left in the bucket. I can't see any other way to view it. You have to make stuff, grow stuff, or extract natural resources to sell and create wealth.

Christmas? If they don't have product on the floor by a certain time before Christmas, they will know beforehand that they won't have the sales. My guess would be Black Friday will tell you a lot.

For one the name would live up to the event. "Black Friday" has always seemed a weird term considering the importance on retail sales.

I have been trying to find a Xbox X at either Best Buy or Walmart or GameStop for months now.

I wanted to get 3 of them for my kids and myself and I can’t even find 1. My fear is I am gonna be in a Walmart on Black Friday fighting 500 people over 5 of them.

Best chance is to use the hotstock app. Pre register at select retailers with EVERYTHING needed to pass through checkout as fast as possible. By the time you see it on twitter, its too late. Snagged 2 series x in july thanks to hotstock.

Tip- Create an account at Bestbuy, Walmart, Gamestop, ect. you need checkout quick, no time for typing name, address and such.

I have a Best Buy credit card and a Walmart Capital One card so I am ready but I just never see an option to add to cart lol.

But thank you for your help. Hopefully that site will give me a shot.

With Walmart most drops I’ve had success with we’re on Thursday at noon or at 3 est. The last 2-3 times they did a partial drop every 10 minutes. If you get it in your cart on then first wave and it says “sold out” wait until the next wave kicks in and just check out. It should stay in your cart. Persistence is the key regardless.

Skinny jeans for guys is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. And I still don’t get tucking the front of your shirt in.

Tucking in the shirt makes it easier to show off the male package in the skinny jeans that one has to wear because of excessive soy consumption that has shrunken said package in the first place. 🤷‍♀️
